Soccer camp applications require a resume? I better get on the ball and start one for my son too! Thanks for the heads up. Sure, I am new to this, as my oldest is moving into the HS age bracket for this particular camp. I realized the document "requirements", after they took my money. Haha, so I think it's more of a thing where they want to know as best as they can what they're getting. There will be college coaches there watching and evaluating, so I'm very willing to share my kid's background.

It's a good thing to have especially if your team will be participating in college showcases or if your player is attending an ID camp. Our coach has a resume for all our players and at the showcases, the team manager passes these out to the coaches in attendance. And as your player starts to email coaches, it's nice to attach. Suggestions: Put a photo on the resume - can be school photo or headshot in uniform - don't do action shots. And start videotaping your player - college coaches will ask for video later as you contact them if they can't come see you.

Wait this is for a player??? I thought this was for a coaches position at a camp! Wow this is definitely getting out of control. Not really - it's good to have a brief - I'm talking less than one full page - summary of the player - name, number, team birthday. You can put GPA and academic honors on there too. Any volunteer work, anything to showcase the full student athlete. It's basically a precurser to what you'd have to put on a college application only more concise and geared only to soccer. Our coach had a form with this information on it (sorry OP - just found that in my old emails or I would have posted it last night) Pretty basic information. PLAYER: GRADUATION YEAR: POSITION: BIRTHDAY CONTACT: [Home Address] [City, State, Zip] [Home Phone] [Fax; Other Phone number, if any] EMAIL:
