This is just another example of why I find this league hard to watch. They knew de Jong would be trouble. Galaxy signed him anyway. I was watching a recording of that match and turned it off after that event. And that was not the first indignity perpetrated against Nagbe on the night. Galaxy had a plan and de Jong applied the coupe de gras.

That really is the definition of endangering the safety of an opponent and should have been a straight red. De Jong has a known history for horrible tackles, remember the World Cup 2010 incident, the horror leg break for Man City against Newcastle and Stewart Holden leg break tackle. Hopefully the Galaxy will take their own punishment out on him if MLS won't

I like players who are pests. Like Vardy and Costa. They are irritating for a reason.. For a psychological advantage. But snot and cleats on a player who isn't moving are totally different from bone breakers.
In the video, NDJs eyes tell the story. It is sickening.
I didn't watch the game but recorded it. I have read that Galaxy basically hunted Nagbe all night. I've watched Nagbe since he was a college player. He doesn't amplify fouls and rarely even complains. He just dusts himself off and continues 99% of the time. I'm glad (hopefully) that his career didn't just end like his former Akron teammate Steve Zakuani.
