Agree! Lets keep this place going. I'm a bit shy, but will try to post more and start more threads etc. Good quality threads is the key for sure.

I promise we are good people over here. Spam threads are deleted promptly and we all pretty much get along. We disagree, but get along!!! People back up comments with facts, and folks come with great questions. We always have to remember their always new folks entering this crazy world of youth soccer that need guidance, and even the "experienced" parent needs guidance from time to time. I learn something new everyday around these parts.
thanks for coming by, please keep posting, and there is no such thing as a bad new thread, unless its spam.....
Thanks!!!!

Also new here. It's really a shame what happened over there. That board was always a sort of wild west place. In the last 90 days of soI can only guess that teenagers took over and completely ruined it. I mean down the crapper bad.
Hopefully you will see some candid comments and rumors here that are allowed to stay on the site and not get deleted. Heated and passionate comments for a sport that elicit so much passion are logically expected. I'd suggest that anything short of libel get kept.

I'm new, too. Just trying to escape the hard-core trolls who have taken over the old forum. It amazes me how OC some people are. Scary, actually. I guess Donna, the (former?) moderator is gone & there is no one left to clean it up. Too bad. Let's learn to use this forum & flourish.

I guess Donna, the (former?) moderator is gone & there is no one left to clean it up. Too bad. Let's learn to use this forum & flourish. THis format is pretty easy to get used to - each topic has a main thread then any comments are added under that with the most recent comments pushing the topic up to the top. That way you can keep up with conversations without having to scroll down through other posts. You get used to it and the fact there's no childish pushing of threads makes it all worthwhile. I've been here off and on since right around this forum was created and I can also tell you none of my laptops have ever been infected with viruses nor has my email been sold so let's put that old forum rumor to bed right off the bat! LOL

I'm relatively new to the soccer forums. I started following along (without posting) back when the age mandates had been announced... just wanting to get a feel for "the word on the street" as to how it would play out. I found this site and what I'm guessing is the "old" site. The "old" site seemed more active so i went there a little more often, but then in the past few months it turned into a cesspool of rantings and ravings with nearly no soccer talk to speak of...
Being that I am new to the soccer forums in general, I was just curious to know what happened? Is there a vendetta against the creator of the site? What would cause a person(s) to be that OC about continually posting garbage daily for that long a period? Is there anyone here with some insight that set that off? Just curious.
Anyway, hopefully this site will reap the rewards of more posters since the other has clearly lost its way. Thanks for creating a place where there is civil discussion about interesting topics. I'm just getting into this as my oldest daughter is only in her second year of Athena and my next youngest in Academy still. I hope to continue learning from some of the more experienced posters here.

Its always been like that at the other site, the difference is that there used to be a moderator who would go and clean it upon request. I don't think anyone does anymore

That forum should be closed. It's nothing but an embarrassment. It's always been obnoxious but at least it was soccer obnoxious!

That other forum is an example of what can happen without accountability. It does not have to happen. Depends on the community of participants. The same thing could happen here I suppose but it would require considerable effort. We are also fairly vigilant about Spam and unfortunate posts while allowing considerable freedom for open discussion and conflicting viewpoints. It is always interesting to try and integrate into a coherent narrative the various opinions people can have on the exact same topic.
