Would assume that would be the case unless they got permission from their DA club. I was originally under the impression that these ID camps would be for UFA players only. That was how they worded it at the meetings, and hence that was one of the advantages that current UFA players would have. They would be "seen" at the id camps, where new players only had the tryouts to show themselves.
I guess they changed their minds and have made them open to all.

most clubs will do this to evaluate current prospects. Some will do now and one towards end of May

Current DA players will not be able to attend, correct? Other than UFA DA No current DA players from CF or AUFC would be allowed to attend. No 04's or 05's DA players from the other clubs that have u12 DA are allowed to attend. Once the season "officially ends" which is sometime at the end of May, then these players can contact UFA if they're interested. Tryout date hasn't been announced yet.

What is a tryout like this like for a new group of kids like U12?
UFA already must know who their top 2006's are. They probably know who their top 5 2007's are.
if that is true why bother with the tryout.

They probably know who their top 5 2007's are. if that is true why bother with the tryout. At that age, these coaches know that so much can change in a year. 2006's and 2007's are way too young for you to make this assumption. They know full and well that not all the top players in those age groups play at UFA. Go for it.

I don't think there is an assumption that they think all the top player are at UFA, they just want to make sure a player doesn't get missed. What will be interesting is if GA rush gets under the UFA umbrella, because I watched them play during the Concorde tourney, and they have a handful of quality players.

I dont think thats going to happen...... that was a mess last year! - Haven't heard anything about it anymore Saw the GA Rush players at the CF Tourney as well, they seemed like good players, not sure why they were in the 2nd division? At the end of the day, UFA is not the only club offering U12DA and kids will have many options. It will definitely be an interesting tryout year

Always is interesting this time of year. You have to keep in mind that 05's will be playing 11v11 next year so the kids who are studs now on 9v9 some will not be on that big field.

No doubt, the jump is a big one for sure. I saw the same thing from 6v6 to 8v8. Many kids thrived at 6v6, but then just couldn't ever translate to success at 8v8 and the bigger field. 11v11 is a different game for sure and throw in those giant fields and bigger goals.

Anyone know the costs associated with DA at UFA for 04 Boys? It was $2000 for this past year. I believe that included uniform. I don't know what it'll be next year at U14.

Small group of 04 boys showed up. After warm ups the coach put together 2 teams, DA vs some DA and others. The complete DA team was a well balanced unit as they were super aggressive and seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. They dominated possession and moved the ball super fast. I think it was like 6 or 7 to zero. The other team looked frustrated and tired almost immediately as they didn't communicate well and seemed to lose possession immediately. There were runs and shots on the DA team but nothing went in. The coach came out and explained that another session will be at the end of April. They practice M-Thu and from the look of things, use the big fields for practice. Very well coached and will be tough to get a spot as the DA boys looked polished. It was an eye opener for my son and I as the pace of play was super fast. I am grateful for the free learning session. It made my son want to do more so it was awesome for us 👍😃

Speaking to the 01s/02s, it was professional and well run. All scrimmages. Thanks again for the heads up, SoccerMom.

I saw some talented kids and a lot of potential on the field. Of course, with 06s, a lot could change. But it seemed to be a strong group. It was nice to see.
