Lots of truth to your comments superdude, not sure about the girls side of things but with the boys DA effectively run out of Norcross, I wonder if things will turn around or pick up? We should know if they are trending upwards with the U12s(2006-2007) and U13s(2005) DA tryouts occurring this week.

What has happened to UFA Norcross?? Club used to be legit on both the boys and girls sides. They had some older girls teams years ago that were very good. Seems those days are long long gone. Don't see this club ever being a quality club now being the small step sister to Forsyth. Even the boys program is garbage now. Not a single team so far in the final four. I'm sure their older u20 boys will make it through - but that's it. Dang shame. Interesting. I think UFA-Norcross will be fine. They have developed several players for AU DA. But, they are in the process of rebuilding (on the boys side) after losing players to AU and Concorde for older boys' DA. Since they lose players every year, each team needs to reorganize. This year hit the boys hard with the u12 DA addition and AU starting. The girls side struggles sometimes because of depth. In the past, girls 14 and up who were good players went to AFU and Concorde for ECNL. And, a lot of the younger girls are going to the Peachtree Corners soccer club instead of Norcross. The good news for Norcross is that their 03 girls made it to the final four. I believe their 00s are a strong team as well. I think UFA Norcross will return to their winning ways on the boys side as they hire new coaches and reorganize teams. I also think the girls side will improve with the addition of pre-DA. Hopefully, they will keep and attract high caliber girls. I think every club has its struggles when they reorganize and leadership changes. I think it's a little early to judge clubs after such a crazy year with the age change. If you look at State Cup and Classic rankings, clubs like KSA and GSA are will hold their own more than a Concorde or UFA because they don't have DA. Look at the 13s (04 group). The teams that made it to the state cup semifinal were all teams that do not have DA programs and didn't lose 2-3 kids to DA. With the exception of GSA, none of those teams lost players to 04 DA, and GSA only lost one player, I believe. And, while one player doesn't make a team, losing a few can hurt a team, especially if they are key players. I will say that what impresses me about UFA Norcross is that it seems like they are in the business of trying to teach a style of play to their children that is more in common with what the rest of the world is doing in their academies. They are more about development in their acadamy than they are winning. Even so, those younger teams (05-07) are absolutely amazing. And, I think now that everyone has a adopted the age change, we may see things even out next year or the year after (since we now have to factor in boys ECNL and girls DA). So, I would not write off Norcross just yet. I have no doubt that they will be fine. Sorry for the rant. I like to root for the underdog.

I think they have some fantastic coaches and even though it might take a year or two they will come back- because quality developing always wins.

That's my understanding - I believe the UFA DA 01/02 coach, Robin, will continue to coach an RPL team (probably the DA's second team for all intents and purposes) out of Norcross right?
