You know us, always wanting to play the blame game...
but is this another example of US soccer being fools.
First why that game last night was played in New Orleans was beyond me given their poor attendance. They just don't seem to show Atlanta any love with womens games.
So the decision to play in New Orleans, thats number 1.
Then number 2, when selecting a city, is it not made clear, that you have to provide a playing surface that is and only looks like a soccer pitch, and their should be no football lines viewable on the field. Were not talking about a NWSL game, or a college game, were talking about the freaking US women. Look the turf their is what it is, and they should have known that going in, but not getting rid of the football lines is ridiculous. Looked like a freaking MLS game last night.....
I really can't comment on the play to be honest, got to frustrated watching an thinking of the incompetence of the mens program and had to turn it off to watch NFL and OKC with Westbrook getting a triple double.

I know this goes against the Wynalda/Landon for US Soccer President but I would be more in favor of Julie Foudy taking the role. Its not a coaching position or technical director position, its a supervisory/political position and given Julie's background in dealing with some of these issues, player strikes, contract negotiations, etc I think she would be a good choice.

I’m a big fan of hers as well. Very level headed for sure!

Buy what about all the complaining about playing the WWC on turf? I thought the USWNT never wanted to play on turf so why are they in a stadium with turf and football lines?

Well according to this article sports.yahoo.com/uswnt-wins-south-korea-loses-turf-033003820.html?soc_src=hl-viewer&soc_trk=tw"The quality of the field in New Orleans is such that the women had specifically requested it not be selected for a game, per the Times, yet there they were on Thursday, drafted into action on a field not worthy of the women’s game’s dominant program. U.S. Soccer reportedly discarded several suggestions from the women’s Players Union for alternative venues in New Orleans."

It's all about politics. And most likely USSoccer is sucking up to Tom Benson because they want his money and influence somewhere. USSoccer doesn't pick venues for the players or fans but based off what makes more money or brings more influence to them.
