Didn't soccermom post on another thread that he's starting a new club in Suwanee and doing training sessions?

First post -- so please don't miss interpret this, not even sure if this is where I should post this. A year ago we were told on the boys side that the Federation did not want DOC's and directors coaching teams, and their preference was for them to work more with the club and multiple teams etc. Has this philosophy changed, as I see Iggy will be coaching 2 DA girls teams. Is this really in the best interest of the club? You can't coach 2 DA teams and then truly monitor/mentor/guide/advise the coaching staff. I've always felt that a DOC should be involved in both the girls and boys side etc. And at a max coach 1 team a year.
Surprised also to see Dixon coaching both older boys DA teams -- Don't get me wrong, I think his bread n butter is that older age group from his days at Norcross, but being the boys director, not sure how he would have time to truly walk around and evaluate coaches and players on a regular basis.
Coaching to 2 DA teams is a huge time commitment and clearly a priority.

In some of the communications sent to the UFA leadership, this is one of the issues that was brought up about Iggy wearing tooooo many hats. I like what he's created with UFA, but I have to concur with him being too involved with too many facets of the club. He needs to trust those that he has put in place.

Anyone have opinions on Judas Kinchen at AFU? Just wondering in case my daughter is offered the elite Athena team.

Anyone know anything about the new staff at the announced NTH Milton area? Dont know anything about Mike G or the staff. Thoughts? Just be careful. They will sell it to you as the next big thing for their club, but it still takes getting the talent in there and that is harder and longer than you may think. Sure, you can have good coaches there, but to them its just a job, so they will work and coach no matter what the talent level is at. But if the top level players in the area don't come or the larger body of the organization doesn't force it's inclusion into the system, it will struggle for quite a few years. Just my thoughts.

Anyone have opinions on Judas Kinchen at AFU? Just wondering in case my daughter is offered the elite Athena team. Let me start by saying this is not an attack on AFU. Most of my interaction with him was while he was at UFA. I am personally not impressed with him as a coach. He was always standoffish with the parents who were asking legitimate questions. He ruined a good team with some talented girls dropping them down to Athena C and once he quit(mid season), another coach took over and was able to use the same girls and get them back to Athena A. The one thing though that really told me a lot about him was the way he would talk/gossip about other players. We were lucky enough that my niece was one of the better players on the team. He would talk to my sister about the other girls on the team that were "lacking" I thought that was unprofessional. He was quick to point out their flaws but not willing to work with them to correct those perceived flaws. Finally, he would always tell the leadership that he couldn't win with these players. Well another coach(name escapes me now) came right in and won with them. I hope he has changed and the culture at AFU has gotten him on to the right footing, but my first, second, etc impressions of him left a negative taste in my mouth.

TG is coaching 3 DA teams at NTH Unlike Iggy, he doesn't run the largest youth club in the southeast. Iggy is overloaded and does too much. I know he strives and works real hard to makes things happen and ensure the club succeeds but he has to take a moment to take care of himself. Take the other day, folks were begging him to take a breather as his nose-bleed looked more like a gusher. If he had it his way, he would have just pushed through it.

Yea he's having issues with allergies. It has nothing to do with him overdoing himself. Seems lately you have taken a special interest in him, Im sure he will appreciate it.

For the record I do like Iggy and appreciate what he has done and what he's trying to do at UFA. It has nothing to do with taking a special interest in him(obvious dig). Not sure if you're offering to let him know how much I appreciate the "special interest in him" Thanks but no thanks. I'm sure he prefers when I tell him in person when I see him and tell him myself how much his hard work is appreciated. My comments have more to do with me thinking he needs to relinquish the reigns of control and trust the people he's personally hired to do their job so it doesn't all fall on him. Even the widely successful TA with all the resources, coaches and auxiliary personnel he has at AU is giving up coaching to focus more on developing the talent and teams at AU.
