Just wondering what the going rate is these days for travel fees for local DA. I'm hearing numbers thrown out there and have seen some emails etc. Would be nice to here what all clubs are charging for travel fees for girls and boys DA given this information is not made public. I have created a form/survey! -- please fill it out for your club if you like! the form is 100% anonymous and only tracks date/time of the entry. ( It does NOT return emails or names etc - and the end user has no idea who filled it out) I have embedded the resulting spreadsheet with results, so others can see if someone has already responded for their club and/or age group. Thanks!! What's unique typically about these costs is you are paying the club to handle your travel etc -- (this includes hotels, transportation, coach's per diem, food etc), when most of us are used to paying these expenditures directly to the hotel, restaurant etc. So these costs are normally hidden in the family expenditures of a family soccer trip or weekend. The form link is here- goo.gl/forms/n8jnY5tGOSYwB6mw1Here is the link to the summary that is also shown below (will also make it a google sheet) - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQof3AUEiEjd4Bty9Est90G6Oo45_BVZ0hRfE_OHQV3NCVGOKdtndMhN6ReAWd5SJaCBUXascrxOJBE/pubhtml

Interesting form -- results will be interesting to see and compare. One would expect for similar age groups and sex, they should be pretty close.

You should open this up to all DA teams, not just Georgia

I’ll try to add a spot for a write in club name tonight.
Thanks!
I’ll also add in a link to the spreadsheet so it can be viewed better

I don’t mean to thread jack this topic, but I’m curious about the team fees as well. Not just the travel. Maybe a separate post. I like the crowd-source idea.

Anyone have time to fill it out for Atlanta United? Would be interested to see the # of extra trips and then the cost of $0 U17s went to Mexico U15s are in Cali I would also ask that you put in a section for Uniforms also. ATL UTD U12s - In addition to regular season games + Futsal Showcase(Feb) + U12 Generations Adidas Cup in Dallas/Frisco(Easter Weekend); U13s - In addition to regular season games + US Soccere Showcase(Oct); U14s - In addition to regular season games + US Soccere Showcase(Oct); U15s - In addition to regular season games + LA Tournament; U16s - Ad-hoc based off of the level of play, but think U15 setup + odd tournament in Houston/Floriday/Local; U17s - In addition to regular season games + GA Cup Qualifying(Columbus/Presidents day weekend) + Actual Generations Adidas Cup in Dallas/Frisco(Easter Weekend); ** U19s - In addition to regular season games + GA Cup Qualifying(Columbus/Presidents day weekend) + Actual Generations Adidas Cup in Dallas/Frisco(Easter Weekend); ** ** Depending on where they fall at the end of the season, if both teams qualify for the post season, they would be involved in the playoffs or showcases. If it is less than a 6 hour drive, the teams take a bus, otherwise they fly. They stay at Marriott/Hilton properties. Uniforms kits, running sneakers, boots, training jerseys & shorts, socks, travelling bag, back pack(except the U12s), travelling gear, warm-up gear, jackets, sweat-pants also included. Grand total for the player & family(drum-roll please): $0.00 Now behind the scenes, it apparently costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $18k/player

😳 $5,500 for traveling on top of $1800 club fees. Shocking.
Please post the form on your twitter handle. I’m really curious to see how much worse it can be in other markets.

$720 for a uniform?? Did they get two of everything? Lol Probably. I don't know about you, but I don't like washing game jerseys, shorts and socks at a hotel. We bought two of each color game uniform, 3 training uniforms and the warm ups and backpack and that was over $600 and that isn't for DA so we didn't buy the rain stuff.

Im sorry, but no way Im buying two of everything. I have never had any issues with laundry at hotels. We do it as a team, and some hotels will even do it for you in their laundry room. I buy extra socks and extra training shirts. Both my kids still have their backpacks from U9...no need to buy a new one. I pay enough as it is.

I asked a friend who had access to the uniform ordering system - Looks like 1 of everything at UFA comes to $411 (2 jerseys, 2 shorts, 2 socks, 1 training shorts, 1 training top, sweat suit, jacket, bag) — a free polo was included
We personal usually buy at least 3 training jerseys and 2 to 3 pairs of the main color of socks.
Please spread the word - I’ve tweeted to a for folks, and will to it again when we get more results. More results will help!
Thanks to those that have contributed. Transparency with these costs in my opinion is important.
There is a summary tab as well on the outputted sheet above which I’ll put more summaries in the future.

Transparency with these costs in my opinion is important. Only new kids had to buy the rain jacket. All returning players still have theirs. And as far as the bag, its only for new players as well. Theres extra stuff that people can buy but thats their own choice. Theres a overnight travel bag, under armour type shirts, nike pro type shorts, sweatshirts and t-shirts etc.

Well I have no problem buying extra stuff to avoid even doing laundry at home. Got home last night at 9 ish and had to get up at 530. No way am I staying up until 1130 to do laundry and get 6 hours of sleep when I can just use another shirt and get sleep. I will pay for another uniform to get sleep but everyone has different priorities. Sleep is mine and that goes for away trips and laundry as well. As for the backpack I know very few people who use their backpack more than 2 years. My kids' packs stink and again I am willing to pay $45 to have a fresh one every 2 years. Even without the stink her pack had a broken zipper which we could have sent back for the warranty if we were willing to go without it for a few weeks, I suppose. Don't forget too that some people grow a lot more than expected and may need new rain jackets etc.

Patent applied for - anti stink cinch sak for nasty cleats! I would think the big two(Nike and Adidas) should spring for that when you pay over $250 for a pair of boots that are only good through tournaments in Fall, only for you to buy a pair for Futsal/Indoor and then another pair in the spring. Now we are talking upwards of $700, with the caveat that you may have to shell out more $$$ sometime in late April since your kids foot just grew another half inch. Wait, should there be a section on the survey for boots

Wait, should there be a section on the survey for boots Absolutely true and hilarious! I am blessed with small footed children and slow growing feet so we don't have to change them out for growth, just wear and tear and I have the bonus of being able to get youth sized ones for my oldest whose foot has stopped growing! Hurray! Saves me a minimum of $150 for high level shoes for life! And the younger one has NO chance of having bigger feet so that's another $150 off when she gets to a level where her feet are big enough to get out of the "little kids" sizes!!LOL! At least I lucked out there!

Since there are duplicates for u19 boys UFA, I'll modify one eventually and delete one. I think the 1 item each is a good proxy for uniforms vs 2 of everything etc. Even though duplicates of certain items is an absolute must.

I'm thinking of the following totals and summary measures: Total Costs - registration, travel, uniforms Travel totals
cost per trip
As more and more come in, hopefully they do, i'll be creating some filtered reports by age, sex etc.

It also seems like for boys, we are lucky to be where we are located with reduced travel compared to other clubs in the southeast so far.
help spread the word on the survey, lots of local clubs/age groups not represented.
