They must be doing this so they can get more blood in the younger age group. Which they have a big group to select from now. Looks like Symrna stops at the U16 girls (2004) age group according to the website. I would imagine this would help the boys side.
Does this mean that the GA Alliance FC dream is now dead?
My guess would be, yes - that has now died.
Or maybe they'll keep going, they just announced: "The Georgia Alliance FC 2003/2004 team will be participating in the Atlanta United FC college showcase this upcoming weekend (May 18/19). This Wednesday (May 15) the team will be training at Life University in Marietta. Players who have been selected by Inter Atlanta FC and Georgia Impact, to represent Georgia Alliance, have been notified by their club coaches and team managers."

I personally feel horrible about Inter and Cherokee. I understand their position but though the stance was a little unrealistic and them not really having a sense of where they were positioned in the GA Soccer market. As for NASA, this is a great move especially in strengthening the younger boys Academy groups.

What: coaches are leaving TOPHAT?

hattrick07: Disappointing that TH is not being transparent about something this big, so close to try-outs. They should feel an obligation to their players and the parents.
May 6, 2019 20:30:18 GMT -5
oh well...: TH spent the last few months trying to come up with the best option for the players and took as much time as they could until they HAD to make a decision. Don't hate on them...but their option unfortunately sucks if you aren't DA!

ja: It is not Tophat's fault. This was a power grab by ECNL. What was Tophat to do, Give up DA for ECNL? Why? Of course the kids are the ones that lose but this is not of TH's making.

hattrick07: I agree that there are factors that TH can't control, but communication is key, and there is virtually zero communication. It's sad when you learn what's happening at your club through other club press releases, or google searches. Not acceptable.

SCdad: Carolina FC parent here, our club should participate in the West conference of SCCL-P. Someone from CF was telling me NTH will also be in the SCCL-P this fall (2019/2020 season) but he was also referring to as a second tire SCCL. What is that all about ?

SCdad: ^^^ "Someone from CF was telling me North CF" <-- edit/correction

redcard: We had many of the same thoughts in TX last year about DPL taking over ECNL but it has been a massive failure in every way - poor competition, organization, no integration with GDA, zero exposure.
May 8, 2019 23:42:04 GMT -5
soccernotfootball: @scdad -- SCCL-P will be 2nd tier according to their releases. There's been discussion regarding whether there will be pro/rel but nothing official has been documented.

Guest00: So what's a rising U15 player to do when their team is disbanding? Tried returning to REC a couple years ago and was miserable. Only other local option seems locked (even tho not rising thru Athena). How do you find teams with openings/interest in adding?
May 12, 2019 14:07:18 GMT -5
atlfutboldad: Guest00: Not rising and yet locked? Sounds like a bad option anyways (no interest in progressing). You're just going to have to bite the bullet and drive a little ways.

Where:: are you located, Guest00?
May 13, 2019 12:51:00 GMT -5
hattrick07: @scdad - with ECNL gone, TH will have the following levels of play: 1) pre DA, 2) DPL ,3) SCCL, 4) SCCL-P, 5) Athena A/B 6) Athena C/D

@sdad2 : It is ridicoulous that coaches are not announced now. Only serious clubs are organized, provide contracts, and announce their coaching staff ahead of time. The rest need a rude awakening on how to run a business.

mom2low: West Georgia needs a quality club.

Dad79: Absolute CHAOS with all the different leagues. All about the $$$. Competition diluted to the nth degree parents are completely lost and don't know how to make an educated decision anymore. Absolute shame on those at the very top of US Youth Soccer.
