I have a son on a team that has played them twice - very exciting games and only one goal scored in both games combined. Glad there is a pathway for a lot of them to continue playing DA at CF. Love their defense - right there with Atl Utd at 1 GA/game (26/26 for SSA, 27/27 for Atl Utd). CF 05s at 29 GA in 28 games not bad either.

For those who may not know, the SSA DA 2005s had a 3-2 win against the AU DA 2005s. I wish I could say it was as a result of this issue or that issue. However, I just have to give it to SSA, they absolutely wanted this win a whole lot more than AU. Okay, I tell a lie, maybe the SSA Parents wanted it more than the lads themselves 🤪🤪 Ref. had to stop game to have the SSA coach "chat" with the parents 😱 Hard fought game to give SSA the right to say they did not lose to the AU team this year, coming out on top by garnering a win and draw for the season. Should be very interesting to see how this shakes out next year, when boys from SSA and CF are combined and if done right, should give the AU 2005s a real run for their money.
In other related/unrelated news, there was an incident that I think should serve as a reminder that parents/fans truly need to stay on their respective halves of the sideline. Let's start by saying both sets of fans were geeked up for this game. A parent for one of the SSA defenders was on the wrong side, and whilst there called for and cheered when his son fouled an AU player. Kid never went for the ball. IMO it should have been a card for dangerous play but sometimes you don't get those calls. What was disturbing, was the fact that the parent called for it and cheered when it occurred. Unbeknownst to said SSA parent, he was standing in front of the injured kid's mom. She happens to be non other than the very nice and calm demeanor mother of AU's first ever homegrown. Needless to say momma-bear had to have a spirited conversation with said SSA parent. From what I could gather from those closer to see and hear, he did apologize but justified his action by saying if he had known it was him, blah blah blah. Side-note, the injured player came from SSA before joining AU, so they are all like Kin. Bottom line, stay on your side and all of that could have been avoided...

So I've only watched the SSA team play a few times -- what makes them so good? Seems every year we have a squad step up and be an exceptional side - who will be that team next season, seems like Concordes 05s could be special next year
Ga Uniteds u14s a few years ago Concordes u13s a few years ago UFA's u17s this year SSAs 05 for a few seasons now

The 05 boys are pretty deeply talented in Atlanta. UFA will strengthen their team, CF & SSA will combine (with maybe a few other players from tryouts or from CF’s very strong 05 ECNL team), and AU will be as awesome as ever. Hopefully all three teams will avoid injuries and AU will field correct age group players. There will be something more than bragging rights on the line next year - a very elite 8 team playoff (unless the USSF decides to expand the format at U15). Inter Miami and Queen City Mutiny will be formidable in this division also. But a whole lot of these SSA 05 boys will figure prominently in the U15 story next year.

Or, sit/stand where you want and behave like a decent human being. I rarely stay on "my side" during a game. And I don't ever make a comment. It works out well.

Unfortunately the way the landscape is, games for teams against AU is essentially their superbowl and quasi championship game. Shows the competitive spirit of the kids, but too bad some parents couldn't behave properly. Hopefully that changes in the future and their is more respect shown in future games. Sounds like the SSA/Concorde team will be the team to beat in the near future.
Should be interesting to see if AU grabs a few kids just to throw a wrench in their plans......

I’ll leave it at that.

I video record half of the games so that helps me keep my mouth shut. I've heard plenty of obnoxious comments through the years and maybe parents should record games themselves to see how bad they all sound.
The 2005's in Atlanta is deep and has plenty of talent. It will be interesting how UFA, Concorde and AU DA teams shake out along with the ECNL/SCCL teams for the upcoming U15's year.

Actually have seen this team play and they're very impressive. even more that that age group is one of the more stronger age groups in the state right now. With the merger / alliance with concord, does SD stay as the coach for next year?
