From the wexham afc game today.
interesting, you don't see this often, on a set piece, a player comes from an offside position to receive the ball. I guess since it was a "dead" ball its legal?

I would think given their are professionals on the 2s, the academy director would answer to the 2s coach.

Only score I’ve heard is 2006s UFA 3 - Atlanta fire 1
It’s 2022 you think these scores would be entered at the field…….

some horrible mental mistakes. the magic is no more.
injuries don't help, but this team needs a new front office.
and did AU ever come out in support of women's rights, I never saw anything, seemed to have ticked off many local fans for sure.

He seems to have played well with the 20s in qualification. Doesn't seem to play well with the first team, unless your name is Longshoe, who loves every AU player. He thrived with the 2s scoring, but hasn't really produced this season at all. He needs to move on somewhere else where he is going to play and actually touch the ball.

There is still a better questionioned to be had here -- does concorde still deserve 2 boys teams in ecnl. Seems it's no longer playing fair. decent question, and my personal opinion is probably not, but what does “Concorde is no longer playing fair” mean? Sorry -- meant -- it's time each club is only allowed one team, unless they specifically show teams are training/from a different location X miles away etc.

Watched a good amount myself. Very difficult to grade players given the 11 that are on the field -- way to many holes. Thier front three offered very little to the squad -- a few got fouled alot, which drew a few positive free kicks, but that was their offense -- hope to get fouled. Centeno, Matheus and the young striker aren't the answer that is for sure. They had Brennan playing striker for almost 65 minutes, I don't see him as a striker, maybe an outside mid, but not a striker. Very limited with hold up play, he's young, so physicality isn't there. He had some nice 1-2 plays, but nothing ever was gained from them. Maybe i'm wrong about his position, but they seem to be doing him a disservice along with the team. I think they are putting him in a no win situation, however, he's getting great exposure for playing with the 2s. I don't intend to throw stones at him, I think he's a quality player in the wrong position. Team now has 2 wins -- both against 2 of the worst teams in the league Charleston and Hartford. These other USL teams have something to prove, AU2 needs to move over the MLS next pro, or what ever its called. They currently have the 2nd worst goal differential in the league as well. The announers were making a very good point, the coach loves these kids are getting a chance to play, but he emphaisize that isn't good enough, they need to go out their and make a difference, and have a positive impact on the game. I'm assuming similiar to all the coaches before him, his hands are kind of strapped. Coaching the 2s has to be an extremely tough gig. You have kids trying to make a MLS roster and shine, and then a mix of very young players probably just told we need you to fill out this roster, your basically free and come at no costs. I do also feel bad for Ambrose, he's in a very tough spot. Very little talent to play with. I do disagree with Soccerhouse , he's a pretty good player and probably could be a sub in the a 18 of first team. he likes to move the ball with quick passess and tries to get forward, he just doesn't have much to work with and he's not the kind of player that can carry a team either. Don't get me wrong, he's not great, but he's shown in the past he can be a servicable left back. Bryce Washington is a very good 1v1 defender, Cobb was ok, really didn't get to see much from him. I wasn't very impressed with Orji Nelson, very awkward, heads the ball often when he should try to settle it, and made many pour decisions out of the back. I also agree with Soccerhouse - the field always seems to be an issue and slippery -- not sure what it is about that field, but does it just play to fast, balls always roll out of bounds, game would be so much different on grass.

very cool, followed along on twitter!
from this age group, sounds like if you were a defender/keeper you had a very good chance of being retained over the years. However, most of the midfielders/attackers came in later. (granted their are still some young 04s that are juniors)

Yea, clearly just garbage. I get this if some clubs are using satellite locations to fill these spots, but that doesn't seem to be what is happening.
What is the plan? are ecnl teams playing in N64, will it be a mix of ecnl/ecrl teams? I was told at our club ecnl teams would be playing in the N64, but we haven't been officially told anything. If they make it a mixed pool, not sure how you charge for it, unless you charge people per game played. or the just increase all ecnl/ecrl fees to subsidize it for everyone.
The boys ecnl is the perfect amount of travel -- a few trips to Greenville, a trip to Nashville, Bham and Knoxville -- then Charleston and Columbia. Nashville(murfessboro) was the only location where hotel prices were high, the rest were all very reasonable standard nicely priced hotels. granted we stayed where we wanted to stay which was normally cheaper than the team hotels.

Yea, you can't pee at Fowler without UFA's boards approval which is all the "owners" of the club. Given they are a non-profit, club needs a real board with non owners and community representation.

UFA VS AU 15s 1-1 UFA was leading the entire game. Had a lot of great chances, Atlanta had possession most the game. UFA gave up a counter and got scored on around 60th minute. UFA should have won the game.
16s - didn’t watch. Heard they tied
19s - pretty equal game. Back n forth. Both teams played nicely. Was quiet crowd. Not much crowd noise until UFA was awarded a pk and went up 1-0. UFA was without a top player who the rumor is headed to Atlanta United. Even game. Talent level was equal for sure.

I don’t think there is anything in rules from stopping this from happening. The rules just state a rostered player at club level cannot play down on a premier team etc. no mention of other leagues etc.

Yes -- AU has the players and should have the coaching personal to easily deal with a lower level team. Maybe that SSA team is better than expected as well, either way good job SSA.
Players getting carded and sent off is part of soccer, field player having to hop in goal happens.

It’s bad
Front office has failed miserablely. Yea we won trophies last season - but was miserably boring to watch.
We have coaches coaching the 2s and the first team With zero professional coaching experience - that sums it up right there.
This roster would barely compete in the USL - it’s a joke.

Yea -- seems very odd -- UFA has what I would argue is the top former DA coaching staff and now top ECNL coaching staff in the city. Velko, Dan Dawson, Jason Smith, and Dixon -- everyone of the teams build from the back and play a high quality style of soccer. Extremely well coached sides. There are many gems on these teams, 1-3 players on each team that are great players. I'm sure it's similar to other local clubs - many gems.
Hopefully UFA keeps retaining talent and attracts new players from local clubs etc -- these coaches are good.
Whatever -- in the long run, UFA is better off retaining top players than losing them. Selfish yes, but if AU doesn't show any interest in some of these kids -- their fudgeing loss.

At what point are police officers also trained to understand, that now might not be the time to apprehended a suspect. I didn't realize he was stun gunned, didn't appear to faze him at all, -- but it would seem to just let him go, then track him down later with a more experienced and larger police presence and arrest the suspect. I guess it gets into will he hurt the children in the vehicle.

Futsal you are the sound of reason. I agree with what you say, but it does bring me back to my point. Protest police brutality. There are many data points that show that black and white people are killed very similarly in police altercations. I think roughly 20 whites last year and 10 blacks. Now I know that proportionately it may seem a little out of whack since black people make up 14% of the country and whites make up 60%, but keep in mind that the 14% of blacks make up 45% of violent crimes. Protest the problem of police brutality and you have my attention. This BLM movement seems to be protesting police brutality, systemic racism(don't agree), reparations(don't agree). So you see tough for me to get behind what they stand for. A little old, but look at the numbers. Numbers don't lie. ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/tables/table-43This issue troubles me because I know very smart people have very divergent views. I do think there is racism in the US. I have two serious questions and would to hear some serious answers--as this place has enlightened me many times. First, in Kenosha, police arrive at scene on domestic issue where MR. Blake's girlfriend contends it is unlawful for him to be there (and I think they would have known there was a warrant for 3rd degree sexual assault) against Mr. Blake. Given the warrant, police HAVE to arrest him. The police apparently make verbal commands to place him under arrest which is the first time he refuses to comply. The police then have no choice but to get physical with him on the back passenger side of the car including Taser wherein he slips away which is the second time he refuses to comply. He then walks to the front of the car as the officers verbally direct him to stop which is the third time he refuses to comply. He then goes to open the car door and the officers direct him not to which is the fourth time he refuses to comply. He then goes to reach into the car which is the fifth time he refuses to comply. After all of this, he gets shot. What do you want the police officers as he is reaching into the car? If there is a gun in the car and he grabs it, it is TOO LATE. Cops get shot If there is a knife, given how slippery he's been, he could stab a cop. OR, he starts the car and runs down a cop or innocent. Or he drives off with I believe kids in the backseat and perhaps harms them. Is the burden on Mr. Brooks to comply so he doesn't get shot or is the burden on the police to cross their fingers and pray Mr. Brooks is going into the car for no reason but to sit and chat. The police have no idea who there dealing with-- if he is crazy, on drugs, on a suicide mission bc of the domestic issue, etc. (I know he got shot 7 times but even CNN did a piece that most cops when they shoot are trained to keep shooting and don't know how many times they shot when questioned afterward due to high emotions.) I think this is horrible. But Mr. Brooks could have prevented it from happening 4 or 5 times. I wish there were a magic pill that would freeze folks in these situations and there would be no need for shooting. But until then, I'm not sure a police officer should have to trust that a non-compliant suspect isn't reaching for a gun. This will likely be a legal shoot based on what we know so far. If not, why would anyone want to be a cop? You make a mistake on a close call and you go to prison? Second question--what is the solution? I keep seeing the get out and vote campaign. This is a local issue. Local police are regulated, funded and trained by state and local entities. This is not a federal issue--and if it were, given Obama was in office from 2008-2016, it would be his federal policies implemented by these entities as Trump would not have time to implement a nationwide police policy in just 3 years in office. These cities and states (MN, WI, ATL) are all democratic (and I know there may be a shooting in a republican state sooner or later). Is that answer to vote out democrats in these cities? Thanks for your thoughts. There seemed to be plenty of time for the officer to use non deadly force to apprehend the individual regardless of his criminal history.

Ha - hope he's watching game film for their next USL game - team is no better since he's taking the helm. Kind of surprised, expected him to right the ship. If glassy keeps winning (I know it's one game), and padding that resume -- look for him to me moving on to bigger things.

Multiple leagues is bad for sure I think ECNL will continue to its rise on the boys side and maintain it's dominance on the girls side.
What they need to figure out is a way to bring in clubs that can't compete in 5 age groups, but have one or 2 solid age groups every year. Somehow allow "teams" vs "clubs" -- i'm not smart enough to figure this out

In my humbled opinion AU recruited more younger kids from outside the state than inside the state. Maybe I'm wrong, but NASA, UFA, Concorde all have players better than some of the kids they have brought in.
Bottom line, if you don't make the AU rosters at u12, its extremely difficult to get over there. Takes a support team, a strong player that shines when being scouted, athletic, and a current coach that also supports that player. Current coach also has to be an ambassador for the player.
It's time for mls academies to drop anything less than <15, scout actuall ecnl, sccl, US youth soccer games - develop a true partnership with clubs. Charlotte is trying this now, not sure if it is going to work. But an Atlanta United badge on your clubs website is not what a youth partnership is about: its about coaching education honest evaluation and assessments of players. players being invited to training sessions during on and off season. AU coming out to clubs training sessions, run sessions together. constant evaluation of local talent and engagement with local coaching staff
