You see that even here in our little microcosm... Teams (recruited) full of great skilled players who can't win a game because they are all "Messi" or "Ronaldo" or "pick your favorite superstar." They don't have time to learn about each from each other and trust each other because they are looking for the next best thing. Last I looked there were 11 on the field, not just 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1...

Eager to see the UFA kits in person. Kids couldn't make the fittings etc. Like the look of the kits though. Has Lloyds begun shipping them out to team managers? I can drink me some coffee for sure, so saving a few cents never hurts, especially since they are building a new dunkin on peachtree industrial by pinckneyville UFA Mountains - got our kits last week. They are slightly different. Only black shorts. Different socks.

My older children (now U14 and U15) had a great experience playing super y - because they ended up getting a great deal of playing time. We didn't go anywhere for summer vacation, so they got to play a lot with their own teams and the older teams who were generally scheduled right after their games.
Lots of touches over the summer and when fall rolled around they were very ready for team camp.

any idea if the standard Comcast account allows streaming through NBC? I have the app on my device and I have Comcast and it will work. The app is pretty good. They stream a lot on there and I see the game listed as upcoming. NBC Sports Live Extra is the app. Looking forward to watching.

isn't there a rule though that a player has to play with a team a certain amount of games or be rostered with them prior to state cup in order to participate? I could be wrong.... No, there is no rule that I'm aware of. Concorde last year brought like 75% of their ecnl team to state cup. You can bring guest players from anywhere (which also shouldn't be allowed unless they are from the same club). I believe a player has to be on the team's official roster for state cup. Registrars all over are familiar with the last minute transfers which occur in the few weeks before state cup. Players are allowed only one transfer per season as well. I'm not sure about club passing.

Final day of tryouts for us. About 50 girls. Boys were on a different field and hard to see so unsure. Seems all done to me. It's clearly obvious who goes where. We'll see if our predictions are correct and they new coach is all he's sold himself to be... :-) Daughter is ready to be done as well mostly because "Mom, it's really clear they have chosen the teams."

Sad. Was great to get to watch games up close and meet the players afterwards. Was easy for the kids to connect to them.

My daughter is a Freshman as well - and our school has hired a new Girls Coach and he's talked about players earning spots because of their abilities as opposed to seniority. We also have a strong JV coach as well. This should be interesting. Our county does not have middle school soccer and does not allow any middle school "infusion" either. Based on what I know about the incoming freshman class (of girls, I'm not as familiar with the boys side yet), this year should be a really good year for our school. Additionally, the coach has indicated he will not have a huge roster, so I'm gathering about 36 - 40 players in total will make the 2 teams. There were approximately 75 players at the initial meeting last year - so there will definitely be cuts. Our tryouts start on MLK day.

Apparently the best place to be is AT THE GA SOCCER OFFICE due to all the side conversations occurring.
Impossible to know which conversation to try to listen to...
Even better - talking 02's and my son is there. And their discussion is directly impacting players on my son's team.

Really? I would have thought there would not be much of an overlap of players. Every ODP player i know plays for the club's top team, and the ones that play for the second team...that team is still Athena A/Classic 1 -- since the top team is in RPL. I was thinking more of a coaching issue, but theres 3-4 coaches in every group so that should be able to be worked out I know an ODP player who has made the region pool who is NOT on the club top team.

This whole thing has NOT been thought out at an appropriate level. The level of insanity which is going to follow the attempt to follow rules / guidelines / field sizes which have not yet been solidified until a meeting in DECEMBER is going to put the youth organizations under tons of stress.

UFA Norcross has been holding a moment of silence before each game this weekend for the boys. Such a sad situation. Prayers for their family. My understanding is ALL UFA teams were participating in the moment of silence. I know we did.
