If any of you are looking for a more affordable and reasonably local option, Columbus State is good. Girls head coach is former professional coach and USWNT staff and think he still does some recruiting at the youth national level.

Not sure what it's like now, but I was there about 11 years ago. Well run. Top level competition. Overall a good experience. If you are lucky you will get to play an international side or two. Venue/hotels pretty close to Mall of America.

Meant to reply to UFA Milton questions but I think I just quoted them. I don't think UFA Milton think has much of a girls academy program, if any. If you are close to UFA Milton and have a rising u10 (08) or u11 (07) girl, I'd take her to Roswell Santos. Their current u10s (07s) may be the top team in the state at that age group and their current u9s (08s) aren't bad either. I would have to disagree about Santos, its not a very competitive club, they just don't have the depth and all good players eventually leave. They will also be competing this weekend at the Extreme Cup, so you should check them out as well. I don't have a kid that age so I have never seen them play. Like most small/mid-sized clubs, Santos has some strong age groups and some weaker ones. For the most part, in most age groups they are going to be stronger than UFA Milton but weaker than UFA Forsyth. However, in the two age groups I mentioned 07 and 08 Girls, because the question was about Girls Academy, the Santos teams as good if not better than UFA Forsyth as well (07s are definitely better - as I menitoned maybe the top 07 girls in the state). Santos fields are very close to UFA Milton, so personally think they would be a better option in terms of level of play, but UFA Forsyth would be a better option than Santos in most (but not all) age groups if the location is not an issue. Personally I would make location one of the priorities for choosing a club through Academy though. Maybe make an exception if team/age group at local club is very low level or coaching isn't good.

We did the youth winter league there last year. Thought it was going to be real games but it turned out to be just scrimmages. Coaches there broke the teams up differently each week so our girls didn't even get to play together half the time. Competition was pretty low level too. Not planning to go back this winter.

We have kind of the opposite problem. Maybe too many games for a u10 girl. I'd say including tournaments, my daughter has probably played 20 or maybe even 25 games already this fall. She loves it, and wants to play every time she is asked, but I sometimes worry that it is too much and don't want her to get burned out. She's actually a u9 age wise, so she plays sometimes with the 9s and 10s on the same day and even with the 11s a few times.

2 Boys U15 C3 teams, Roswell Santos and South Georgia were C3 last year and entered State Cup. Both won a play-in against C1 teams and won/tied games in State Cup. Santos went undefeated (1-0-2) but didn't go through to semis because Alianza went 2-0-1.

Was it an away game? If so, I'm pretty sure you should be able to protest the game and have it replayed at home with a full crew of certified refs.
