DSC Academy playing AFU Academy for the first time in years. Good luck today! Hopefully both parties have buried the hatchet.

That's great! There are some clubs that are within 20-30 minutes of us that we never play. To the parents and kids it seems pretty ridiculous...

They used to play five years ago, but AFU discontinued the relationship because the DSC parents were so out of control on the sidelines.

After years of a friend's children playing soccer at several different levels, he decided that Athena C and Classic III were the best place to be. There's some good soccer being played and it was much more rare to come across psycho parents. I suspect once you get to ECNL and DA that parents (and kids) can get a lot more crazy.

As the level goes higher, the money spent goes higher. Along with that up go the expectations, the tension and the competitive atmosphere between teams and within the team. It is no surprise that parents and players go a little nuts during games.
On the other hand, some of the craziest parents I have seen are on the recreation level...

Actually, it was a different reason that AFU and DSC did not play for years. It had to do with one of the DSC coaches decamping to AFU and taking his whole team with him, etc. That coach turned out later to be the infamous PA. The best case of Karma you ever heard.
Ps: we finished 1-1-1 in our age group.
