Knowing a few players on the 06 DA team he was supposed to coach, I'm sure they are very upset losing him. As of now the neither the players nor the parents have been notified or emailed by the club officially about the change. Piss poor communication for sure. I know this happened abruptly, but still -- show the 13 year olds some respect and send them an email or arrange a team meeting. I agree, for them it is a big deal to lose a coach.

It was also posted on Facebook yesterday at 4:15 pk but I missed it since I’m not on Facebook that much. Not sure why they didn’t send an email since I seem to get emails from UFA and Norcross about everything else even in years when I don’t have a kid playing there. Very tough for us as family, Roberto has been the rock as all 3 of my kids pushed through Norcross. All 3 have had him as a coach.
Roberto is one of the good guys. Great coach, great motivator, great leader and more importantly just a great person. Extremely honest guy and he understoods the meaning of youth soccer, the meaning of developing young immature boys and teaching them how to develop into grown men. He understood all these kids will become teachers, lawyers, doctors, engineers etc and that there is more to life then the game itself. He reinforced that the kids must always shake coaches hands before and after training sessions and would get very upset if a player walked by without greeting and shaking his or other parents hands. Roberto was all about making kids better people and he succeeded at that.
Wishing only for great things for him as he moves on to Orlando City, I'll be following him for sure!!!

I’m still shocked norcross just doesn’t fold, it’s a true dumpster fire and second class at its own club

I’m still shocked norcross just doesn’t fold, it’s a true dumpster fire and second class at its own club Having a day that you feel the need to spread negativity, huh? There are plenty of strong teams out of Norcross, especially on the boys side. This upcoming fall though the 04 and 05 girls teams should be stronger. They have both gained several strong players. The 03 girls team is already very strong.

With success comes opportunity. Stinks for players who were looking forward to playing for that coach, but you can’t be upset with a coach earning (and capitalizing on) a golden opportunity. Silly season is just as hard for clubs and coaches as it is for players.

Any word on who will take Guti's DA Coaching spot. Does it go to assistant coach. Do they look at Dan Dawson who lost DA spot when 12's were eliminated. Or do they bring someone in or let Roberto's replacement handle it. I'm out of the loop these days.

I think Guti is still with the club, below email was sent at 3:28 PM. To all Parents and Players. I hope this email is finding you and your families well. My name is Daniel Gutierrez, I am the academy director for UFA Norcross. It is about that time to start getting prepared for the 2019-20 season. We will begin training with team camp. Team Camp is MANDATORY for ALL players. (explanation below) Our official start will be Monday, July 29th with TEAM CAMP. Team camp provides the coaches an opportunity to work with all the players in the academy program and begin the pre-season preparation for all the teams. It also helps new and returning players meet all of the coaches we have in the club in a fun and competitive 2 hour session during the entire week. . . . Enjoy the weekend and look forward to seeing everyone at training this week! Daniel Gutierrez Director of Academy - Norcross Director of Video Analysis Program - UFA DA Generation Adidas | United Futbol Academy Development Academy Member www.unitedfa.org Skills for Soccer. Skills for Life.

I like Jason, hope he does well. During the parent talk at the end of the ODP pre-camp, it was announced that Jason will be the 2019-2020 u12 (2008) boys ODP head coach as well.
