Looks like our local teams performed pretty well at the Charlotte showcase this weekend. By just reviewing the scores it looks like local standouts were Concorde 06 ECNL platinum, NTH 04 SCCL and GSA 04 SCCL-p. Biggest upset seemed to be GSA 06 SCCL-p over NTH 04 DPL- a shocker. The new DPL teams didn’t seem to perform that well overall. Was anyone up there to see the NTH DPL vs GSA 04 game. Curious how that happened.
Congrats on a strong showing by local clubs though!

Do clubs have a set DPL team? Can there be a team that only plays that DPL "schedule"? There are only 5 DPL teams in the southeast, right? I'd guess that DPL, at least in the first year, would be a hodge podge of any of the available non-DA girls that didnt leave their clubs for ECNL elsewhere, and that looks to be true based on this result(I know, I know... it's just one data point). How is all that travel worth it for what is essentially an NL conference?

are DPL teams registering thru USYS or whatever like DA teams do versus the ECNL NPL SCCL clubs registering through US Club.
Can a player be dual registered in US Club and USYS?
I didn’t think that SSA or UFA were even letting players guest on NPL from SCCL? So what would the league “below” DPL be that a Tophat / NASA player could even come from?
I’m pretty confident that DPL teams are a set roster at least in Atlanta

The DPL rosters are set at NTH. The order of teams at NTH is DA, DPL, SCCL, SCCL-p, Athena A... etc

DPL, me thinks it be a farce. Also hearing there is now a U12 pre-DPL team at TH 🤣🤣

There is no actual USSDA tier 2. DPL is a USYS league set up by teams that have a DA and no marketable 2nd options. I'm not sure why those teams that lost ECNL dont go get into NPL.

In U13 (this weekend was all girls): - Concorde ECNL 07G Premier won their division. - I believe NTH Tophat 07 DPL won their division
In U15: - NTH Tophat 05 SCCL won their division. - NTH Tophat 05 SCCL-P won their division. - GSA 05G SCCL-Premier won their division.
There were a few others at least represented in division finals, but I didn't look up the results.
I believe Concorde, Tophat & GSA were the only 3 Metro Atlanta clubs represented, and overall they represented the Metro Atlanta area very well.

The 04 SCCL team is definitely better than the DPL team at the moment. Quiet a few of those players either don't want to play ECNL/DPL or just want to play for the coach they have.

I'd chalk that up to some families likely not buying the DPL Kool-Aid and opting/trying out for SCCL instead. If it becomes a proven team/league, more would flock there.
I don't see the 04 GSA SCCL-P/NTH DPL game mentioned

The girls love the coach, plain and simple, and had no desire to play for anyone else.

That game was in the showcase, as were most of the dpl teams (except 07 I believe). The showcase schedule is at the bottom under all the tournament schedules if looking at SincSports

Glass Houses/Stones...from the Fall 2019 NL Piedmont Girl results...
U14: JIYSX 5-0 MOBA U15: NCFC 6-1 CFC Red Star U17: NCFC 6-0 IAFC U18: Charlotte Independence 13-0 AFU U18: NCFC 14-1 Carolina FC U18: Charlotte SA 13-0 AFU U19: CFC Red Star 6-1 Highland FC
It appears that GSA 04 SCCL won 3-2 over CESA 04 SCCL the previous day. GSA won their other 2 games 7-1 and 6-0. In SCCL last fall, GSA was 5th in SCCL and CESA 3rd. Seems like there may be a little more to that story.

The GSA game the previous day could have been a similar scoreline. CESA girls seemed to stop playing after they went down by 4 in the final and GSA improved as the weekend went on.

MM's CF ECNL Platinum team (U15s?) beat 3 DA teams--CSA and NC Courages 15s and 16s. Both of these NC clubs are always solid. A little more evidence that in girls game DA and ECNL are neck and neck.

I heard their new coach, Alex Wright (young English coach who was at LSA last year) is the biggest difference and has them playing very good soccer right now.

He did a great job at LSA with some very good and some average players. I would assume that this GSA team is decent...he will make them better and they will do well.
