Remind me again what the regional league is? Best I can tell it is ECNL clubs' second teams. Kind of like the DPL for those certain DA clubs that have it. They do get the opportunity to play in the ECNL end of the year showcase against the lowest level ECNL teams. Seems like more alphabet league shenanigans.

Off the ECNL website (below). Not sure if this would affect Georgia next year but something to watch
After a small but tremendously successful pilot program during the 2018-2019 season, the Girls ECNL Regional League platform will include 7 leagues across the country in the 2019-2020 season. Each Girls ECNL Regional League is structured slightly differently, reflecting the unique needs and desires of the participating clubs, geography, and more.
Girls ECNL Regional Leagues are operated and managed by the Girls ECNL to insure a consistent environment and level of professionalism across all leagues. Each league allows improved coordination and collaboration between teams of different levels within ECNL clubs, or opportunity for teams and players in other clubs to develop through regular high level competition.

Some of the clubs in the VA region are not ECNL. ECRL was started in the Texas region by ECNL clubs (IMO trying to snub the DA clubs 2nd teams). Theres no reason for SCCL-1 to not be an ECRL regional league (or at least an NPL affiliate).
To what mr. Grinch said above, all of these alphabet leagues are simply recruiting tools.

Guy who runs NPL South Atlantic also runs SCCL. And some USCS leagues up north. Different guy runs ECNL. All fall under USCS. I imagine if they can make more money off parents as seperate leagues, they will continue to do so.
