Man, I honestly couldn't even watch the USMNT game last night. Why the hell was that game played on a baseball diamond. Total joke, everything about it was embarrassing -- the team benches, were literally that, metal benches. US Soccer should be ashamed of itself. Then to make matters worse on the side closest to the main camera - there was a horizontal line that almost ran the length of the field near the 18 yard line, very very distracting.

$$$ undoubtedly. USNT likely takes bids to determine where to play and Louisville bribed them the highest. NO US national soccer team should EVER play in a baseball diamond.
I must be one of the few who wonder why USNT games seem to always be played in the northeast-north central to the midwest but rarely the south. Occasionally the WNT play in NC I think, they played the Netherlands at the GA dome 4 years ago (we went to that, poorly attended, but the ticket prices were high IIRC).

Where did they play?
I thought the NTs typically play in the larger soccer cities with soccer specific stadiums which is why they only come to Atlanta once a decade. That and politics of course. The other thing is weather and the coaching staff, when we are canceling practices due to the heat index in the south why would they come down here? Also, we have no NT presence on either side, most coaches and staff are in other cities.

But we're crazy for saying there is a Southern or Southeastern Bias in the world of soccer... Uh huh

If it's me in charge, I hand over US Soccer to the SEC conference to run, in 3 years we would dominate the world! (or at least the global impression would be that we dominate the world!))

They played in St. Louis yesterday. Why? Because they’re getting an MLS team next.
Problem is St. Louis doesn’t have a football or soccer stadium anymore.

The line was distracting but pretty sure it wasn't on the field but rather the cord that holds up the foul ball netting down the first base side as home plate would have been in the corner to the bottom left of your TV screen.

They play it in cities like St Louis or Columbis in the hope that they will draw a) a big enough crowd that is b) more pro-USMNT.
