No nearby parking, fun. Also, why won't anyone think of the golfers?

No nearby parking, fun. Also, why won't anyone think of the golfers? There are plenty of golf courses in Miami. The golfers will be fine. Besides golf is a dying sport. Many of the golf courses are hurting for members.

Not sure how well you know the lay of the land in Miami.. but this is kind of up in the weird north west Dade area not far from Joe Robbie. Not exactly the most central/convenient location (or the nicest area).

Not being a golfer, I drive by golf courses that are empty and dead and always just imagine if those were nice pretty groomed soccer pitches, man wouldn't that be nice......
maybe i'm a clown and total idiot, but can anyone find the actual address of the envisioned world class complex?
seems to be the most difficult thing to find......

I figured, but wanted to point out that golf is dying. I agree with soccerhouse...let's make golfcourses into soccer fields. Maybe even ones that aren't locked so that people can play on them when they want to...

They want free land, to join the rest of the free land barons. Just don’t threaten their profits with P/R.

Not exactly the most central/convenient location (or the nicest area). Actually the Miami Freedom Park will be located next to the Miami International Airport (1 mile), just north of the Dolphins Expressway (836), 2 miles from Marlins Park, 5 miles from Miami Heat’s AA arena & downtown, 6 miles from the University of Miami Coral Gables campus. 20 miles from the Miami Dolphins stadium, which is on the border between Miami- Dade and Broward county. So ‘conveniently’ located for Miami-Dade county residents but not for those in Broward or Palm Beach. For the first year(s), Miami Inter will play in Broward county though ( until Miami Freedom Park Stadium is completed).

I say that too. And then when I pass these baseball complexes that are massive and rarely used how great it would be had they just flatten the land and made huge green spaces for all sports to use instead of all the concrete, dirt, and metal fences that baseball leagues think these fields need. 🤦🏻♂️

Big difference. Still a shizatty neighborhood, but at least central.
So is that the old Mel Reese course that's going to get whacked?

Yes, it’s the old Melreese Golf Country Club. I understand the initial projected costs have gone up as they found high levels of arsenic that needs to be cleaned up. Also, some additional Miami City Commission resolutions need to be approved (ref: the leasing of the land to Beckham group) before the plans can move forward. In the interim, Inter Miami will play in Lockhart Stadium, up in Fort Lauderdale area.
