Good ole fashion A whooping for sure! So kidding but the transitive property of sports..... Concorde would have tied the Columbian team, great job concorde!!!
It's still crazy to me, not jealous, I think this is pretty amazing, but man, what do you think this trip costs -- close to $100,000??
The best part, and this is the goal, is the parents didnt have to pay anything. The club pays the travel cost. So the cost wouldnt concern me. If my child was on the team, I would be excited about him getting a chance to test his skills against players in another country and also he is seeing a different part of the world...

Sadly not really since the U17 X team ebbs n flows based on how the lads play from the group of 2003s and 2004s and a few pull-ups from the 2005s. You can get a good idea of who went and who is playing by looking at the Game Report for their last game vs CF U17s [https://bit.ly/2MPUnUF] or if you're familiar with the lads, you can view the pics in this tweet -

soccergurl- Sure look at SM post here
Soccerhouse- No, not that I know of. They train 5 days a week plus game/s weekends so they really want the boys to rest the body. (plus give us parents a needed break). If a team has a bye week then sometimes they will arrange a scrimmage but don't see any pickup games.
I'm sure some might play some indoor but why risk an injury/ starting spot.

I won't win any arguments, but we need to shift to a model where kids are playing in pick up games and encouraged to do so. Kids are playing because they want to, not because they have to.
If I was a coach, I'd arrange a session on weekend and let the kids know I'm going to be a few minutes late etc. Then I would actually never even show up, instead I'd go and just watch from a hidden location to see what the kids do. How do they react, what type of session do they run, do they scrimmage, or do they just goof off an bail and leave.
shirts vs skins, throw anything down as goals and just play. could you imagine these days if a club played shirts vs skins, somebody would probably be sent to jail. God for bid you show up at training not wearing a training shirt etc. Just freaking play!
did the AU 17s only play 2 games in South America? Seems a long way to go to just play 2 games? Am I missing something?

AU 15s, 17s, 19s at Orlando
15s : 2-0 AU win 17s : 0-1 AU loss 19s: 2-2 AU tie
Drama at the U17s game as a red card issued to AU player(not clear what for), two goals called back for AU with one of the goals taken back as a result of the confusion regarding free kicks and offensive players being in or around the wall. Ref made the right call but...
Side note and a wee bit late. Saw the post about the Inter Miami goalie taking a leak on the pitch during the game. Sadly, that is true. Player feigned injury, got the game stopped for what everyone thought was an injury that required the trainer's attention. In a coordinated move, all the goalie's teammates make a circle of trust around him and he purports to drop and pee inside the 6 yard box. They could have gotten away with it, had the trainer been within the circle as opposed to lingering around the 18 counting sheep. I give them kudos for the ingenuity though, however nasty it might have been..

Guest20: AFC and MOBA fields are flooded with SSA Coweta kids, what happened?

GKR: SCCL spots from Club to P2 advertised in the forum makes me wonder how strong those teams will be.
May 31, 2020 18:09:59 GMT -5
slickdaddy96: Guest20, well first of all since SSA didn't hold tryouts (which was dumb) parents took kids to AFC/MOBA to survey the other clubs and get a free workout. I know that is why I did it for my own kid.

slickdaddy96: Guest20, Also since some age groups may not have enough kids for teams @ SSA Coweta, I believe some parents may be hedging their bets to make sure their kids has a spot somewhere. They got rid of Josh Villalobos down there & a majority loved him....
Jun 1, 2020 7:01:32 GMT -5
slickdaddy96: ...some are pretty pissed of how he was treated by SSA and are going elsewhere due to it. That is my opinion. Opinions do vary though. Doesn't really matter most MOBA teams were almost full, they should consider multiple teams in some age groups
Jun 1, 2020 7:02:44 GMT -5
slickdaddy96: Most AFC teams looked to be full as well, so honestly not very many places for SSA Coweta kids to fall. Most will have to be back or quit playing. AFC/MOBA play GA Soccer so there is going to be a step down in competition anyway....
Jun 1, 2020 7:04:35 GMT -5
slickdaddy96: I have actually heard of a lot of MOBA/AFC kids in different age groups contact SSA for team info as well due to wanting to be in SCCL over the sinking ship of GA Soccer Athena/Classic.
Jun 1, 2020 7:05:11 GMT -5
onestepbeyond: Sorry slickdaddy96 but SSA below ECNL and DA is garbage. Coweta absolute joke. Both MOBA and AFC have far better coaches, better teams and better fields.

onestepbeyond: See you in USL-A
Jun 1, 2020 9:59:39 GMT -5
slickdaddy96: Well considering the majority of their DA kids are now playing on the NPL team, and the NPL team was not to shabby, and most of them will go down to SCCL-C. I think they will be fine and are far from garbage. Coweta isn't a joke just seems like it is an..

hot momma: Good or bad? My daughter was told by an ECNL club that she would be placed on the U19 Composite team but she would likely get some play time on the top U19 team.

futbalatl: What is wrong with people ranking and comparing 08 girls teams? This is insane.
Jun 3, 2020 9:16:59 GMT -5
Yes: Agreed. Insane.
Jun 3, 2020 10:18:08 GMT -5
Futsal Gawdess: How bored/meaningless is your life that u dedicate time assessing, comparing & rating 11/12 year old girls, especially considering they move from 9v9 to 11v11 so all commentary is conjecture at best. In 6-8 months, the results will say it all 🙄
Jun 5, 2020 8:15:02 GMT -5
Futsal Gawdess: While we're at it, ranking the ECNL boys teams is also a fool's errand 🙄
Jun 5, 2020 8:16:37 GMT -5
Goalkeeper Dad: That not what I was hearing from the some of the coaches and players, but it sounds like you have a better insight to that team then I do. Guess we will find out once the rosters are posted. Either way I heard they will be good. Those team were good last
