I mean the rumor was out there that AFU was taking over RYSA right? That has been out for a while though.
I still have my suspicions that either next year or two years from now Concorde and SSA are going to merge. Still just my hunch but I'm not the only one thinking that within my circle.

Off topic, but Afu and Rysa? Hmm with AFU taking over Henry County this year and if they add Rysa that’s a serious push to be SSA like geographical and gain two massive facilities.

Maybe it was NTH, but it was one of the two. I would have to go digging on the posts around here and see if I could find the person that mentioned it.

Problem with a merger of SSA and Concorde is that they lose a younger age DA spot, SCCL spot and a SCCL-P spot. The merged club would have too much talent with not enough places to put the kids into a competitive situation, which would lead to a mass exodus.

I would assume any merger as far as SCCL goes would just keep both spots in SCCL and SCCL-P for the combined new club. That would have to be agreed upon in the SCCL league before it moved forward.

I can't see that going over particularly well with the SCCL egos. NTH will argue that they acquired Smyrna and Concorde North and therefore should have 2 teams in each league. UFA will argue that it has Forsyth, Norcross, and Milton and should get two teams. AFU will argue that it has Duluth and Henry county (and maybe RYSA). GSA has Dacula and Lilburn. You see the problem. SSA and Concorde are much better off staying separate while pooling top team players.

not suggesting a merger with any of the clubs mentioned, but the precedent is there with Charlotte independence to retain multiple teams at the younger sides. NCFC is another example.

The younger DA will likely go away anyways. A merged club would have DA, ECNL, NPL, SCCL, SCCL-P and whatever GA Soccer teams. It looks like SSA only has 2 teams in all of SCCL boys that are in the top half of their bracket.
It would also likely bleed talent to other small/midsize clubs.

If not big 5, my guess would be the clubs involved in that Ga Alliance thing. Cherokee and IA? (Just a guess). Maybe 2 of the smaller clubs in Gwinnett? Oconee and Atlhens United?

Oconee split off Athens and had a small rise, but has been downhill for a few years. Oconee has a HUGE rec program run by the county, but there's no pathway from rec to club.

The last merger of AFU with Henry County got me thinking we may see the start of mergers with clubs further out of Atlanta?
When is this news supposed to release?

I think the higher ups at national Rush (Ga Rush is part of a national organization closed Rush) bought Chiefs Fc to move out of Milton since that’s become a disaster. Think about Ga Rush’s fields are owned by the ex spouse who hates their ex at Rush add in NASA Milton and Ufa expanding into Milton so the old boys at the National level decide to move to locations to an established club that has two major complexes they’ll have exclusive rights to.
So come tryouts expect chiefs to fold into and become Ga Rush and in the coming years the Milton location to slowly lose everyone but Rec.

Both clubs have had declining numbers of select teams over the past several years. An alliance with a club an hour away on a weeknight doesn't give me much confidence that the numbers and quality of teams would improve.

Yeah, these clubs reaching out for strategic partnerships with clubs some distance away don't make a ton of sense. You're not going to make your teams any better, there is no consolidation over distance. Its the haves and have-nots. They won't compete with ECNL/DA clubs for talent. And there's the 2nd level of regular NL clubs in Inter/Roswell/Impact/etc that scoop up much of the 2nd tier talent.

I don't believe they have an actual Milton location anymore. Could be wrong.
