Sure, they changed personnel. But that happens everywhere. How many TH ECNL teams are playing the same girls who started out at TH at U9? ? And the 6 who stayed at UFA all either start OR play every half of every game. They all contribute. One UFA holdover had to take a break from soccer due to severe injury. Thats bad luck, not a team getting rid of bad players.

Is it normal to have so much turnover every year. Our team had personnel turnover during the age change but after that not much. If your team has a lot of turn over is that by design? It seems if many people leave each year maybe you should change clubs. Most of our team has played together since they were 8. One girl left for ECNL, started and came back 3 years later. Seems like most girls want to play with friends and not worried about alf leagues. By the way this team dominates ECNL in friendlies( ECNL does not generally play open comp.)

Don't know what team you are on, but that is a rarity for high level teams if you are speaking of kids being together from academy through until the end. We had a turnover of 6 from last year. Of the girls that left, two quit soccer entirely, one voluntarily dropped teams to decrease travel requirements and to focus on school, one got dropped by coach choice and one left the club (a historical club hopping person...had been at 3 clubs in 4 years, not 4 in 5 years). My child has only 2 teammates that have been with her for 4 years, 2 others for 3 years and several for 2 years. All of our friends have similar situations at their clubs with ECNL and/or DA and even NL.

The more remote and less opportunities you have the more likely the teams will have been together for a long time. If you live (for instance) in the Norcross-Duluth-Roswell triangle, I imagine there is significant player movement from year-to-year.

Would be interested to know which ECNL teams your NL team supposedly dominates. I have a daughhter who plays ECNL and her team beat the top 2 NL teams in GA 4-0 and 7-0 and games weren't as close as the scores. On the boys side may be a different story since the top boys teams play DA, so sometimes ECNL and NL area a little closer in level, but every game I've seen between girls ECNL and girls NL has been completely dominated by the ECNL team.

Ultimate dad, what's your point?
This post was about a positive going on at a club for KIDS. And you want to imply what, that it's all a power move?
Oraclesfriend is right. Kids switch all the time, especially in the location of metro Atlanta our girls are in.
Get over it.

Ultimate dad, also, understand what you are talking about before you trip out. Go back to a similar post back in the early fall. There were specific reasons these girls came together---NOT because they worried about leagues.
I could same the same to you: if we worry too much about leagues, why don't you just forgo the stress and allow your kid to play Recreation or Athena C level soccer?

On a note about the NL/SCCL thing, clubs outside the big 5 should be happy about SCCL/SCCL-P. The existence of those leagues has made it a good bit easier for more of those clubs (outside the big 5) to have access the USYS regional league. Everyone else should have said: "Yes, please go...and don't let that door hit you on the backside on your way out." I think many were taken aback by the audacity of the big 5 to do their own thing/to be ABLE to do their own thing.
