So -- sounds like Charlotte is next in line for a MLS franchise.
I recall seeing CSA involved in a press release a while back promoting the initiative. Would the team be the Independence or a the Panthers ownership group?
either way -- that community can't support 3 academies at u15+ Should be interesting to see what happens.

Agreed. In general the Atlanta DA teams have been beating the Charlotte DA teams fairly regularly this season. Talent pool is not big enough there for so many DAs.

I personally think NC FC should be the recipient of the next MLS franchise. It astounds me that the Carolinas do not have an MLS franchise already. Having said that, let's not forget that money always talks. On one hand you have an executive with the vision to start and run a whole pipeline for soccer. From youth teams, all the way up to the WPSL in the Courage and the USL NC FC team. He brings in a wealth of knowledge having played the game in Wales as a youngster. Went to one of the college beacons of Soccer - UNC. He's a multi-millionaire with big plans for acquiring an MLS franchise. Now match that against the opposite side of that coin in Tepper who brings one thing and one thing to the table. He's a multi-Billionaire. Enough said...

Agree -- Raleigh is the spot - that community constantly draws high tv ratings for soccer event and in a way is mecca for soccer. Tepper hired Tom Glick formally with the City Football Group (The group that owns Man City) back in 2018 -- since then Charlotte has pushed themselves to the top with $$$ and Glick.

I agree the Raleigh area seems to be the area to support an MLS franchise. Youth teams in that spot seem to be stronger than in Charlotte.
