Is GSA a good club for girls development? From having played them for a number of years, I have not been impressed with its girls program. The girls team tend to play a lot of kick.., I mean direct play. |

Where would you go for the best development for girls? That would depend on a number of factors--where you live, the age group, which style of soccer best fits your daughter, and the coach for the age group. From what I have seen, the coach is much more important than the club. |

Is GSA a good club for girls development? That is kind of a loaded question no matter what organization you’re talking about. Sometimes programs are restricted by the talent they’re able to coach. Players are willing to put in the time not only on the field but also off they’re going to develop but it requires more than just the hours they have at practice. |

Let the debate begin! But the common advise would be to identify the best coach for development vs best club. Of course easier said than done when you want to find the overall best fit but you'll find mention of recommended coaches within the forum depending upon age and location.

Is GSA a good club for girls development? Development? No. As mentioned already, a lot of the girls teams play "kickball". The top teams (ECNL) develop a lot better than others. However, those players that develop the best are the most committed and go outside the club for additional training (probably similar to other clubs). |

Got to give credit to AFU for being smart about their ID camp. They are the only one doing it on a different day than everyone else. Worst decision was SSA doing boys ID camp on a Monday night when kids are practicing. “Hey coach, I am not going to be at practice so I can go to SSA’s ID camp”. That should go over well.

Here are the pre-tryout ID session links for the ECNL & GAL clubs I have been able to find so far. Please feel free to fill in the gaps... *snip* Awesome post. For people trying to estimate what their practice commute might look like, are these typically held at the eventual practice location of the ECNL teams? |

Always interested to see what kids from outside the club show up at these. new blood.
preliminary coaches names would be helpful as well, you could list 1-2 coaches per age group as potential head coaches.

To avoid wasting time on the tire kickers. Parents trying to get their kid on an ECNL team who flinch at paying a $20 fee may not understand what they’re getting themselves into. |
