GA games are canceled for the entire weekend

Charlotte boys showcase is on as scheduled. They did reduce the length of Saturday games

Tophat tournament closed all fields and gave scores of 0-0 between 1 and 445. Some games in progress at the time they removed the players from the field were left with the score they had at the time they closed the fields. They reopened Gateway, Noonday, Metro and Quest but left OC Hubert and LakePoint closed until 6pm.
We had a morning game and it was still really hot. Part of it is that they are now not acclimated because they did not have all of their practices. Also they waited until 245 to tell people of the status of the 445 games.
I will give them credit for using accurate weather info to make decisions. It is interesting that aside from Gateway the fields that opened back up earlier were the grass ones.

Artificial grass is a lot hotter than natural grass, so that much makes sense. Glad to hear there is some sense in leadership. I think it was 80 degrees at midnight last night.

So, any updates on cancellations or adjusted schedules for this weekend? Both our ECRL games were cancelled and are being rescheduled. It appears as though Concorde was the first to make the decision that their teams would not be playing in the heat this weekend. We played our ECNL game today in GA. Two water breaks per half, no restrictions on subs. |
