The "New UFA ECNL Director" thread explores this topic as well...
But I really think it's a step in the right direction as it's not unheard of in European soccer (or tennis, for example.) It points to a maturing of the sport in the USA that players are being developed at a younger age

I mean, I wouldn’t let my kid but that’s not my kid so…but I worry less about him physically than I do mentally. I hope he has a strong support system.
