Isn't Washington guaranteed rain? I understand San Diego, but if they're going to host playoffs where it rains then can't we just stay here? I'm all for moving it to a Round of 16 only for all age groups. May be an unpopular opinion...

the lack of a more central location is disturbing to me -- the cost to fly across the country is insane. It's fine to do it once, but every 2 years etc, it's expensive. our last trip to San Diego for example the cheapest flights were around 1K a ticket. Some people were able to fly to LA a little cheaper. I'll add the rental car shuttle at the San Diego airport is an utter disaster as well.

ECNL alternates between west coast and east coast for Playoffs and Finals. In 2023, the playoffs were east coast and the finals were west coast. In 2024, it is reversed--playoffs are west coast and finals are east coast.

Now imagine this scenario, 20+ fields, all in one location, near the busiest airport in the world so teams from all over the country can get there easily all with every national team coaches offices overlooking the fields. Couldn’t that be something.

Couldn’t that be something. I doubt USSF fields would be used for ECNL. If the last 2 complexes we dues-payers funded for USSF are any gauge, they will be for NTs and then local MLS/Next/2/Pro teams. Pooling our dues to fund the rich shouldn't surprise us anymore I suppose.

Washington in June and July is guaranteed perfect weather. No humidity, no rain, and temps in the 70-80°s. Wish the boys would go up there over San Diego again….

One reason given to justify promotion and relegation being NOT feasible in USA is the country is too large geographically- too much travel required.
Sure is ironic that the pay to play soccer industry just don’t care about that.

I believed that with ECNL, there was an informal pattern of switching playoff locations between the coasts each year. Since the playoffs were held in Southern California last season, I assumed that the next ones would be on the East Coast. This rotation helps ease the financial burden on East Coast teams, sparing them from consecutive cross-country trips and shifting the responsibility onto West Coast teams to make the journey eastward...

This rotation helps ease the financial burden on East Coast teams, sparing them from consecutive cross-country trips and shifting the responsibility onto West Coast teams to make the journey eastward... I don't know if that is correct?. The last 3 years for ECNL girls playoffs were all supposed to be on the West coast. The exception being that California was locked down for COVID in 2020 where Florida was not ( Side Note: Thank you Florida for not going completely insane!!)... and so they moved it to Lakewood Ranch, Fla. at the last minute that year. So it was/is: San Diego (2020-21) Seattle (2021-22) San Diego (2022-23)Seattle for (2023-24)
So I don't know where the "East Coast-West Coast" every other year thing is being talked about. And I think it's B.S. that it's set up like that, as you implied, making the Eastern teams have to eat the coast of cross-country travel! Not to mention travel has become unbelievably expensive ever since our country lost its collective mind during COVID. Maybe it was like that in the past, idk, but it hasn't been in recent times.
