solosoccerdad: Help needed on the South Side of Atlanta: I'm not trying to start any fights, but, I'm in Peachtree City, and I'm trying to make a quick decision between MOBA and AFC Lightning for U14B and U11G...any input is appreciated...

fgug: On the girls side, I would choose AFC hands-down. It is a well-respected medium sized club with relationships with the Big 6 clubs and a path to well-established league play past the Academy years. MOBA can't even field teams for most girls age groups.

buttercup: Good morning. Does anyone know where you can find a full list of Boys High School soccer All Conference, All District etc... players? I would like to see who from around the city got what honors.

ibisduck: We are on the 08 boys at MOBA, and they have a new coach this year(plays on MOBA's USL2 team). He took both of his teams from Div II classic to GPL in one year last year, hence why he inherited the 08's....

ibisduck: This year AFC is having their 08's tryouts this week and MOBA is having their's next week, we are doing both. AFC is moving into MLS- Next and keeping their NPL team and maybe adding an SCCL team, but they only had 30 kids there last night.

ibisduck: We expect more kids tonight at AFC tryout as other clubs had tryouts starting Monday, hence 2 days at those and 2 days at AFC.....

ibisduck: AFC will require more further driving to games than MOBA will this year

username: I would do tryouts at both, if you make afc top team it is probably (not definitely) the best option, if not, MOBA probably better option. I would also have a bias towards playing them both at same club for simplicity.

slickdaddy96: If your kid doesn't make AFC's top team for boys (MLS) then I would not take the NPL spot. Their 2nd teams and down are generally bad even if in NPL and they will be bottom of table. Not worth the travel for NPL on a losing team.

slickdaddy96: Go MOBA if he doesn't make MLS AFC. Remember MLS means no MS or HS soccer allowed. SSA Coweta also has a decent 08B team in SCCL. It's probably the better age group for boys of all the SSA Coweta boys groups.

soccermom72: What is best option for U15 boys not playing high school soccer ?
Sept 7, 2021 10:59:45 GMT -5
Soccerhouse: soccermom72 -- are they in 8th grade? or 9th graders just not playing?
Sept 20, 2021 10:47:20 GMT -5
slickdaddy96: heck even if they are in 9th grade they can still play in the friendly season. My kid played JV and also played in the majority of the friendly games as well as they did not conflict with HS. I wish the big clubs would allow friendly seasons U16+ as well
