Big Booty: my kid ain't good enuf for odp but u losers who did not make it last year I think are SOL if u r good enuf scouts will find u otherwise have coach/doc call on ur behalf otherwise stop belly aching, sick of oh everyone gets a chance or a trophy mentality

Sad: how some people like Big Booty have learned to be so rude and misleading with misinformation, but behind the right message which is only the best/most worthy players should be at ODP.

Sad: Example, find out the true number of applications and if they include all returning players who register for free. Also ask yourselves how will GA Soccer pay for the coaches and admins to run it otherwise, and then consider the cost.

atlfutboldad: ECNL players are welcome at ODP. If their club discourages or forbids it, thats the family's problem. ALso, they're quite busy with 16 games in the fall plus 2 winter showcases. Many ppl don't have time for both.

ODP: Should start with zero players. Unaffiliated coaches scouting and selecting like a college program or expansion franchise for 95% of players, and tryouts for the last 5%.

Devil's Advocate: Scouting would take a ton of time on the fields and would not be cheap. Tryouts are never good when there are too many kids. Ask the club coaches instead, take their recommendations in good faith and cut whomever can't handle it later.

very curious: if number is true, how on earth they can scout 800 kids at a tryout. Guarantee you kids that should make it won't and vice versa.

ODP tryout$: 50 players in original pool is an ok starting point as long as they separate the top 18 after 3-4 practices. In both age groups that I witnessed the talent gap is quite evident.
