I personally haven't done this research, but the flu (grippe is flu en Francais) side came from CDC and the COVID side it says came from France's Pasteur institute...regarding virus mortality:

Just waiting to see what happens in the next couple weeks honestly. We already have next year coaches watching zoom workouts, sitting in on player/coach evals, etc. what club are you with and what level does your child play out? How do you know who next year's coaches are? We haven't heard a peek from our coach but my daughter is doing daily Zoom conditioning and technical training with her personal trainer.

Maybe a poll?
~ Returning next season, no concerns ~ Would like to return next season, but need COVID19 contract amendment due to likely disruptions ~ Not returning before there is herd immunity or vaccine
Or something like that...? (Additional options?)

Following the thread, but so glad we are done with this part of our lives. Just praying that colleges will be open come August so my girls can go live their lives. Good luck to everyone and I hope all are happy and safe with whatever decisions are made. Don’t fool yourself that we are done with Covid-19. There will not be a vaccine when the flu returns in the fall and so does covid. The big question is do we shut down again or realize that despite how contagious it is we should just push through and keep everything open as it’s not as deadly as initially thought. I am pretty sure she meant her kid is done with soccer tryouts, but your point about Covid is true. Honestly I could see more restrictions again in the fall but hopefully much more locally based as they will hopefully have better testing, contact tracing, etc. The issues are going to surround how to better contain the breakouts. Germany did very well and they are even going to restart soccer (fingers crossed) May 15 or 22. We will finally be able to watch live pro soccer on TV. Woohoo! Bundesliga and Germany rock!

Has UFA actually sent anything out official about tryouts? I know their website list the usual late May/early June dates, but it has been this way since before Corona came into play.
UFA doesn't even have anything on their website that mentions the virus. Either way, I had not thought of Polo Fields. They are big enough to host. Although when I look at the UFA website, the boys are scheduled to have Polo tryouts on 6/2-4. Girls are currently at Fowler.
As others have pointed out, will all the big clubs come together and figure out a way to make tryouts happen at the same time in order to make it fair for everyone. The last thing anyone wants is to be sitting on the sideline while other clubs fill up their rosters.

Excellent point! Even if clubs are ready for tryouts or games, do they have fields to use ! This is a good point. Can anyone provide a list of clubs that own their own fields? I would rather go to one of these clubs this Fall.

They sent out an email a couple of days ago with the details that are on the website and opened registration, we signed our daughter up. I guess we'll see what happens as we get closer! For tryouts, avoid contact. Its not that difficult. There might be a few collisions, but less likely if they get onto the players about it. So I see your daughter is not a Center back. Good defense requires fearless contact.

Especially from my daughter.

Nope, she's a winger/striker/mid.
Nothing worse than seeing a center back to for the tackle, getting blown by or juked out of their shoes for a 1v1 with the keeper.
That's my "ooooooyyyyyy" moment.

I know that the clubs are just posting the usual dates because that is what they were told to do. They want the registration up but know that they may not be able to have them in the usual format. Note that there are no times. Part of that is concerns that they cannot have that many people on the field at a time.

NASATophat has Quest Park, Metro North and Tophat fields GaRush has the Stars Complex Gsa has the Lilburn Complex Inter Atlanta has Arizona Anyone know of anywhere else?

I don't think it really matters, it will be the entire league that shuts down if something goes wrong again in the fall.

So UFA wouldn't be hosting any late-spring/early-summer games or tryouts. That could really screw up things. Some kids might tryout and sign before UFA (and other clubs) even have a chance for tryouts... UFA Forsyth has Polo they can use...I believe they will get to use it until the end of the year

You think Fowler would let Norcross use Polo if it came down to that for tryouts?

I think clubs would rent turf fields from private schools if absolutely necessary. GSA uses Hebron in Dacula and Providence in Lilburn a decent amount already.

You think Fowler would let Norcross use Polo if it came down to that for tryouts? I don't see why they wouldn't, I guess its a matter of planning? Has Gwinnett county said anything of when they plan to open their fields for organized play?
