I just needed to read the provided PDF file. Tuition: $1,924.00 Tournaments: $395.00 Total: $2,319.00 If that also includes the coach's travel fees and all showcase entry fees then it is not bad at all. I can almost guarantee that UFA is worse...unless they charge less for ECNL than they do for ECRL and SCCL club teams. Plus don't forget the out of county fees went up to $175 for fall and additional $175 for spring. We are no longer at UFA but it is more expensive than other clubs we have been with, are with now and looked at going to for our kids (we did look at AFU). Regarding the fees that AFU collects ahead of time for tournaments: It does not include: - tournaments or showcases planned by the coach/team.
- “…items like Coach per diem, mileage, airfare, hotel, etc. for travel tournaments…”
It does include: - the 2 tournaments, and 3 showcases planned by the club.
- “… your player's portion of the team registration fees for the tournaments your team is assigned, tournament admin fees and tournament match pay for coaches.” -- That’s the pay that the coaches get for each game that the team plays during the tournament.
[My emphasis] There are no out of county fees.

I don’t buy it.. my eldest daughter is 2nd year division 1 Soccermaxx72 is / was affiliated with LSA and probably AFU. Also most parents I know who truly have top players going to top schools don’t talk / brag about their kids. They don’t need to. He/She can hide behind their animosity, but top ECNL player top college ... not buying it. You're wrong! His kids are both top 50 nationally and are on 2 of the best teams nationally and they both have multiple offers. I know that for a fact. And they both crushed AFU ECNL TEAMS. Not going to expose them but. He's not blowing smoke when he says his kids are 2 of the best in the country.

All of our kids are one nasty tackle or concussion away from hanging up their boots for good-probably a good idea for all of us to eat some humble pie. (Including me)

So if a tournament is planned by the coach, the parents have to add that too? Yes. We’re new to ECNL but do you think the team would play more than “2 Planned Fall Tournaments”, and “3 Planned Showcases”? That’s what is planned by the club for U16-U19 ECNL Girls. Registration Information: “For the 2021-2022 soccer year, the club will continue collecting tournament dues separately from tuition dues. This is being done in an effort to s prevent volunteers from being responsible for tournament fee collections for teams. In order to do this efficiently, and communicate this information up front, the plan is based on target roster sizes and target tournament participation. Each team will be assigned tournaments to participate in. This will be communicated to each team prior to the season beginning. The club will handle registering teams for their assigned tournaments and also for paying their registration fees. Our Club Admin will work closely with teams on this process and communication.” I’ve not been a team manager so I’m not the best person to gauge this, but $395 split between five multi-day events where the coaches are paid an additional per/match fee seems like there’s not enough money in that $395. I mean no one likes to be overcharged, but at the same time when you’re looking for a real quality coach, do you plan to nickel and dime them? I’m not. I myself do quality work and don’t expect to be offered substandard compensation. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in. “There will be a need for teams to collect for items like Coach per diem, mileage, airfare, hotel, etc. for travel tournaments and/or for additional tournaments that are selected by Coach or team that are not a part of the assignments made by the Club. (Examples are: Disney, State Cup, etc.) Any tournament (or regular season) game that is farther than 150 miles round trip from Scott Hudgens Park will have additional costs that will have to be covered by the teams. We will communicate this early in the season.”

Must be boys, because there aren’t two girls that currently fit this description. “I know that for a fact”. And what kind of parent of two top 50 athletes goes around sharing their kids offers with other people. Yeah, not buying it either.

Having a few kids come through the process, not always get what you pay for but with my youngest at UFA we definitely are. The facilities are better than most and the coach is top notch. Had offers for top ECNL but he wanted to stay with the coach though the team is ECNL-RL. Tough decision but he has learned overwhelming more with the current coach than all coaches in the past so again, for me, the cost is worth it.
