Well day 1 of CESA friendlies was a disaster.
I honestly didn’t even check the weather before we left, but doesn’t seem like Sunday will be playable either. Should be interesting.

Agreed. More than half of the games in our age group and bracket not played and ours will likely get cancelled tomorrow too. Though the weather for the early games looks playable as long as the fields are...

The first games this morning wont be an issue and the fields look like they held up pretty well. Probably won't be the case later as you can tell it's going to be one of those thunderstorm days.

Now I am glad NASA passed on these friendlies as the 07s were able to play a good 07/06 MLSNext KSA team locally yesterday instead.

If it makes anyone feel better about CESA (2-2.5 hours from Atlanta) & their cancellations, I have a friend whose kid was playing in the Florida Elite tourney in Jacksonville this weekend. A good number of the games yesterday were played, but a lot weren’t, due to rain & thunderstorms. And then yesterday evening the tournament decided to cancel all Sunday games because they said the city parks department was going to close some of the fields today. So some teams drove 5-6 hours with 2 hotel nights for 2 games at most, some 1, and I’m guessing a few none.
EDIT: And apparently it’s sunny & clear down there this morning. So at least some of the early games likely could have gone on.

I remember a few years ago we had friends on a girls ECNL team that we doing their trip to Tampa and Fort Lauderdale. The Tampa game was fine but the Fort Lauderdale one got cancelled due to storms and that was a plane flight trip so I know it can suck more that this for sure. |

Tophat 09 Gold was leading NC Fusion ECNL 5-0 when game cancelled yesterday. Tophat 05 Gold lost to CSA ECNL top team 3-1 this morning.

I was very impressed by KSA’s size and speed. NASA was just a bit better technically and kept possession well. |

Based on the schedule it looks like Charlotte planned to play each of their age groups vs the same birth year on Day 1, and then up a birth year to challenge them on day 2.
