I've been told that diversity is our strength. So it's very important. Well only if the diversity is a supposed "oppressed" class. No "oppressor" class can be part of the left's definition of "diversity". Its all in the DEI, Critical Theory, Intersectionality, Post-Modernism guidebook. You didn't get a copy of it?  So to correct your comment. "Diversity is our strength" as long as it doesn't include white people, Jewish people, and Asian people (last two are considered white for purposes of DEI). Your comment is not intelligent or necessary. |

Yeah, some of the comments about diversity sound like the stuff I hear on Fox News when I am visiting family. Let’s just be happy there is some positive soccer news coming out of Atlanta. Why do we have to turn this into something about race, DEI, or the left?

When I saw "..Fayette County" in the thread title, I honestly saw all of this coming. The funny thing is that there is like 2 Fayette Counties. There is Peachtree City (what most people think of Fayette) and then the rest of the county. This spot is in the rest of the county. It is a very diverse county even by the left leaning definition of it. |

It seems that a lot of people (probably you and footy too) forgot the history of the area over there prior to 1948. You got to jump a lot of mental hoops to believe what you all believe. Also if Israel wanted to make Gaza a glass factory they could easily do it. The fact that they don't and also don't do the atrocities done in the Hamas attack tells me all I need to know which side is good and which side is evil. I remember when this was announced the ECNL people were mad because they thought Arthur Blank was going to give them the land i dont know why we cant just be happy this is close and talk about some of the positive aspects instead of the negative

I wish this post had not turned into what it did, but I will go against the folks that started the crap every time someone says something that is ignorant, prejudiced, or racist like footy did to start all this crap. I am happy this is being built down there in a diverse growing area of Fayette County. I think it will serve the area well (just like the rest of Trilith has), and I'm excited to have something so close to my backyard that I might be able to visit from time to time. |

i dint think y’all were debating. maybe 1 sided? don’t shoot the messenger pls trying to redirect the thread- anyway i like that us soccer is coming here but isn’t it going to be exclusive to training the teams? im not sure what the benefit will be- we get to say it’s here. yay? we get 400+ jobs and i hope they hire from within the community but at least some of the jobs will require a background in the game. Right? that already limits the jobs by some. from the conceptual design there are tons of fields maybe some kids can actually use them- but i don’t get my hopes up too often with us soccer

I saw somewhere once that they employ about 80 fulltime employees. So either they have grown exponentially or this includes forecasted economic growth in the surrounding community because of the development. Maybe it does and includes senior national team members as employees? Does anyone know how this is determined? Just curious. |

If I’m not mistaken, it’s close to Sandy Creek HS, which, according to the internet, is 86% minority. I think the driving factor though is availability of land close to the airport. I hope it works out for everyone. Trilith is almost dead center of the county between Peachtree City, Tyrone and Fayetteville. McIntosh HS ( I believe 8 state championships and one national title)is as close if not the same distance from Trilith. Fayette County is also home of AFC Lightning, producing Clint Mathis and Kelly O'hara...MOBA soccer also has a facility in Peachtree City.....Other HS in the area include Sandy Creek, Heritage , Starr's Mill, Whitewater and Fayette Co High. Coweta county is just next door and hosts SSA, not to mention Newnan HS Trinity HS, Northgate HS East Coweta HS.....at some point in time all of these HS had good runs and as they opened new schools, some became better soccer teams and others became better Football....Northgate has 3 NFL players and 1 Atlanta Brave...Sandy Creek had two NFL players.....and other other side of Fayette co...is Clayton county who also hosts Atlanta Fire or maybe they are in Henry County |

You sure you are not thinking about Forsyth County, Buckhead or Johns Creek and surrounding North Fulton County? Exciting to have this land here. I hope to get an opportunity to work on the design and construction. It’s still a huge waste use of resources (including donations). There are numerous parks around the country that can be rented to host events rather than always in being one place. For a 90% discount. But this is how we roll with pay to play baby - forget about using resources (I’m talking money) wisely. Good location. I was expecting it to land at Ft Mac. Me and you both......would love to get all of the stone work (marble granite quartz etc) |
