See - even EPL GK's make bad backpasses and give the ball to the opposing forward

It wasn't really a back pass. It was an attempt to play a very difficult ball across his body to a wide player with the opposing forward standing in a very dangerous position. Even if it would have succeeded the right outside back would have been in a tough spot. However, why in the world did the left back, to whom Guzan had played the previous ball, play it back to Guzan? The left back had no pressure. He was in space. He had time to turn. I was trying to tell whether Guzan was telling him if he had space. Chicken left back.

Oh. And Robbie Mustoe asked the same question of the left back (or was it a center back providing a wide support angle) at half time with a nice graphic.
