No Tony Anglin on the Chiefs list? Does anyone know where he's going? DDY: ddysoccer.org/superyleague/786811.htmlYou could contact the DOC and ask what teams he will be coaching. Great coach, nice person. Definitely a loss for the Chiefs.

not a fan of the GSA naming conventions for the younger age groups, its so confusing.
i know a name is a name etc, but its confusing. wish there was a standard across the state. speaking of names, maybe that will be the mls name, atlanta elites.......or the atlanta premier futbol club..... you have elite, premier, black, red, gold, barclona, Man city.......

I agree, they seem to do that on the boys side for some reason....At least make it uniform throughout the club so you know what level team it is.

very gimmicky in my opinion, nasa does the same. so you have no idea what freaking academy team you are playing.

very gimmicky in my opinion, nasa does the same. so you have no idea what freaking academy team you are playing. Oh you can figure it out pretty quickly based on who's rostered on which team. By mid season, you can translate what those names would be at other clubs. At NASA the U12 Academy names are for that year's seniors - it's a nice tribute IMO. The top team - at least on the girls side has been 'Ingram' since the year after Coach Jay passed away. He was the head of U12 Academy the year he was killed - NASA has done a great job of honoring and remembering him although by now, too many of the kids coming up into this age group would have never known him. The sweetest thing I ever heard was two years ago when the NASA U19s won their national title, several of those girls had been coached by Jay and they left their medals at his gravesite. He was an extraordinary person and left his mark on so many kids and parents. I do hope NASA continues to honor him. And face it, at Academy, does it really matter what the team names are? If a club runs their Academy program well, the teams will be changing and morphing from U9 thorugh U12 so the coaches have a better grasp of who is at which level to create the Classic and Athena teams.

no it doesn't matter what the names are and i think its great they honor coach in that manner!
from a tournament scheduling perspective its a challenge as well, properly seeding teams in divisions etc. sometimes i think even some of nasas boys academy teams don't know who/which club they are from. asked a parent after a game if they were from papermill or quest, and he didn't know, said he thought most were from quest. I think it helps will ensuring you always have competitive games and making sure the proper teams are matched up etc.

For tournaments, the teams do end up being more dispursed by ability with the 'top' team going in the top bracket with who the coaches deem the 'top' player at that age. And - for whatever it's worth, you can usually look at the team 'rankings' in SIC and get a decent guess as to where they should be placed. Then again, I normally hate the fact any team below U12 is actually 'ranked'. But yeah whether the team level is designated by a color, a number or a name, up through Academy, it's hard to figure out the top team d'jour at any club unless you've been around them a while. Must be pain in the butt for tournament seeders

My son has trained extensively with Pancho. Very passionate and expects the same from his team/players. Needless to say, I highly recommend Pancho for the serious player who is willing to work hard.

I'll vouch for pancho as well. he coached my nephews this past year. Yes, it took a month or 2 to get used to his style, but the boys ended up loving him and one is very disappointed he will not be keeping the rising 15s.
His 14s will move from classic II to I with a roster at times that had to play with only 11. His 12s went from probably being classic II next year to what I think will be a lock for classic I. There last month of play, has been very impressive. Pancho is in for the right reasons. Cares about the kids, and teaches the kids the proper way to play the game. Ask any of his former players, they will all speak very highly of him.

My daughter did private sessions with him for a couple months and you would never believe how much she improved as a player. He's tough though. First session had her in tears but a few weeks later she was practicing with his same age boys team twice a week and holding her own. He practices on the same field as my u9 daughter and it's really fun to watch his drills. Amazing stuff that he's able to get out of his boys. I agree with soccergator...he's in it for the right reasons. Loves the sport and loves coaching.

He's also the 02 Girls ODP Head Coach No idea I had heard he got a multi game suspension and when I saw his nam on here I looked it up and it shows him having a 3 suspension for Irresponsible Behavior. Unfortunately he only served one game, and with him going to a new team he won't have to serve the remaining two games.
