My gut tells me Blatter is getting kick backs from some turf company......
Remember one of the facilities had to pay over 1 million to replace the turf in one of the stadiums. A joke.
Turf rocks for practice and to get youth games in other than that no reason a soccer ball should have touch the fake stuff.

Timing of this revelation by Wambach is pretty interesting. Only a stones throw from FIFA elections. But Blatter seems to be so Teflon that he cannot lose despite the ludicrous statements he makes on a regular basis. Despite more than strong suspicions of rampant corruption and loss of moral compass in FIFA that have significantly worsened under his watch (and that is really saying something for FIFA). Despite Qatar. Despite wanting women's soccer players to have kits more befitting of beach volleyball to draw more attention to their game. The relevant issues have been covered at some length in the media. For me, that a guy like this can stay in command of an extremely powerful worldwide organization tells me all I need to know about the differences between the way people in the USA (on average) versus large sections of the rest of the world think about social justice. And this is despite the obvious struggles we have among our populace over similar issues.

The best thing that could happen for FIFA would be for Sepp Blatter to go away... for forever.
There is no reason the WWC should be on turf instead of grass. It just shows a lack of support for the WWC instead of supporting it like they should be.
