Several teams are done with their season while some have two or three more games to go. Good luck to everyone as they finish up games and head into post-season tournaments!
One thing that stands out to me is that the top team in A through D are all those clubs' top U14 team - Roswell, Savannah, Columbus and South Georgia (and several of the 2nd place teams too - Ambush, Lanier). A few key players added to a team make a big difference and can jump a team up a full division or two in a year. Clubs with multiple teams have teams where all the players on the team are pretty similar in skill. However, that probably hurts them in being able to move dramatically in the standings like those teams have.
Athena A
Friday
NASA 1 - SAF 2 - NASA started the season pretty strong but has slipped lately. After SAF's 10-3 game I expected more big scores but most of their games have been close since then.
Saturday
Rush 1 - Inter 1 - Rush surprised me with three wins to start the season but didn't keep that up. They've only scored one goal in their last four games. Inter has done pretty well since moving up from B.
AFU 1 - Chiefs 1 - Chiefs have managed a couple wins but are sitting in last for the second season in a row. Can they pull out a win against AFU to move up a spot?
Sunday
AFU 0 - SAF 2
Roswell 2 - Chiefs 0 - Only 2 losses and less than one goal given up per game - nice job Roswell!
GSA 2 - Rush 0 - GSA was close to last after their first five games but have made a comeback.
Wednesday
DSC 1 - Inter 0 - DSC has only given up 1 goal in their last 5 games. I was surprised by Inter's loss to CF.
Monday
Ambush 2 - Chiefs 0 - Ambush had a nice rise from 3rd in B last season to their current spot in 2nd in A.
TBD
CF 1 - Norcross 2
Athena B
We'll see Savannah and TH Navy in A next season.
Friday
RYSA 2 - TH White 0 - RYSA was the lowest seed coming into the season but will finish solidly in the middle of the pack. They have a very athletic forward. They're not posting their scorers so I'm not sure how she's doing but she's definitely a scoring threat.
Saturday
CF South 0 - TSC 1 - CF South has lost seven in a row. The loss of their top scorers to the Central team this year really hurt them.
Sunday
RYSA 1 - MAYS 0 - MAYS was pounded by Savannah last weekend but has kept most of their games close.
Monday
NASA 1 - MAYS 0
Tuesday
Dawson 1 - SSA Blue 1
Athena C
First through fourth place are decided in C with Columbus being the standout. Columbus and Lanier finished 1 and 2 after moving up from D.
Saturday
SSA White 1 - UFA 1 - SSA White had a big win over DSC last weekend. After pretty low scoring games, they won 4-1. UFA has done pretty well after moving down to D and back to C this season.
Tuesday
Norcross 1 - CF North 0 - CF has picked up a good win here and there. Norcross has played close games with pretty much everyone.
Wednesday
DSC 1 - SSA Blue 0 - SSA Blue looks like they'll head to D next season.
TBD
CF North 0 - CFC 4 - Will CFC bother to play this one since they've already won C? It would save them a long drive.
Athena D
There are four teams all pretty close together at the top of D. There's no clear winner yet.
Athena E
SAF has won one of the E divisions. The other doesn't have a champ yet.
