Or the offer he or she wanted?

He wants to continue playing, so it's a win regardless. Old team dissolved and he's on a new team at the right (same) level, so it's all good. Even has an old teammate and friend along for the ride.

Based on the excitement level tonight when the offer came, yes, it's what she wants. And at the end of the day, her decision, her commitment, her life. She is very excited about her new team and coach and as her mom, I'm very proud of her for putting in the work and thought to choose what she did.
Nice to have the offer by the last night of tryouts - makes the weekend so much less stressful.

It was surprisingly low stress for us. All but one player returned and two new players were added. Daughter is happy so I'm happy.

Yes, she is staying on same team (her wish, unless the team dissolved) lost two players, got a former player back and added four new players.

So did most people get an offer last night at tryouts or did you receive a phone call?

yes now there is an interesting question. I have one child who got an offer Tuesday, turned it down (great team, great teammates, right skill level to be challenging but just did not fit our schedule) and then got an offer Thursday night.
I have another child whose coach did not start notifying players until this morning.
Interesting dynamics at play with the coaches.

We're at a small club. Most everyone on the team is returning. Picked up a few new players. No drama.

What a treat, our daughter got the call she was hoping for.
Sure has come a long way from U10 where she was a bench rider on the bottom team. "Coach, why can I not play more than 5 minutes a game?" "Because it wouldn't be fair to the good players to play you instead". Shudder. Glad to see the hard work and dedication has paid off.

A coach actually said that your daughter? If so that should have been the cue that the coach isn't someone you want your child exposed to.

Yes, same club same team. Got the call after 1st night. It took the pressure off of my daughter!

Yes. Son playing C1 with 4 of his friends should be a fun season.

Yes - both kids did. They had to earn it. Proud of them!
