DOC at my kid's club waited until day 3, then brought in almost an entire C1 team that he had recruited, after dangling the C1 spots in front of my kid and his team. Classy.
Anyway, I'd rather my kid and my money went somewhere else. If he doesn't sign, will he be able to find a team at all?

Absolutely. Just depends on what level he wants to play at. Most clubs still have openings for team oriented players. Contact some other local DOCs or coaches to see about having a tryout.

Your son doesn't happen to play for a club in Gwinnett that is changing locations this year does he?

The gossipy stuff belongs on the other forum. The club isn't important. I am interested in options for my son to play CL1. I am not a crazy mom but he earned it and he is good enough. They played in and the only team they lost to was the u16b finalist.
What I am wondering is that if he does not sign Friday, is he totally screwed or not? He thinks he is. I don't know enough about this side of it at all, but his club will brand him CL2 forever, and going into U17, the club has taken away any chances he has to excel there. He needs a new place to excel.

If he signs he's probably screwed or you will have to pay your way out of it . Go with your gut feeling if he's a player someone will make room for him . You haven't signed yet so start emailing and calling clubs !

He is so dedicated to the idea of his teammates he won't change, but the top boys were just as shocked. They are probably gone.. trying to bring that to his attention.

It's such a small window for youth soccer . Every move has to be your best move,if you can find a C1 team to let him train with in late July/early August when camps open he may get a spot on that team. Try and have a couple lined up and let him choose which one fits his style, but I would definitely leave the place that blindsided him because you guys could end up in the same situation again next year if the club does that to the current C1 players and they drop down and bump your son down again.

Makes calls and you do not need to sign on day 1! We have many folks that hold off for financial reasons etc.

Yes..the window is even smaller if your kid is getting college inquiries but got put on a C2 team leading to his u17 year. BKs club team was all "family" until they got a better "family". This kills most post HS chances for my son.

Go kick ass on a C2 team. Colleges look for players, not teams.

Youre not screwed...there's another deadline when clubs have to put your name in the system to GA soccer. Make some calls to other clubs, teams are still being built.
