Well it is here again, signing/acceptance day. May you all choose wisely and rest and relax after this weekend. Does everyone have a digital acceptance or do you have to go somewhere to sign??

Wonder how often kids accepted spots on teams, but then walk and don't sign? Also, I think our club expects people to sign within 5 days.

We have to sign and register by Sunday night That is what I'm wondering, anyone aware of club really enforcing these "deadlines" for acceptance?

I believe every club expects you to give an answer on the spot, right? If so, I think that's an unreasonable expectation by the club, as it doesn't allow you to weigh your offers and make a decision. Which is what they want, of course. However, if you are truly weighing offers, such a system forces you to accept every offer and then back out later. It may not seem right to do that, but knowing how clubs cut players and exaggerate/lie during tryouts, I wouldn't hold it against someone who did this. Apparently all's fair in love, war, and tryouts. That said, I have never done this.

Navigate the maze. Find the route. Solve the puzzle. Our boy signed last night. Main objective, a pathway that allows him to play at a higher level of competition. And in the labyrinth that is GA soccer one hopes that his personal decisions garner him challenges and opportunities, yield life lessons that he can deposit, bank the knowledge, the ups and downs, that will, sustain him later in life. With so much movement of players in his age group (U17), it has been quite something... TGIF and I'm so looking forward to watching the USWNT tonight - it will be a tougher match for them but should be a good one.
