Looking at the other groups, for example and watching ivory coast vs Thailand, wow, this group is brutal.
Will be interesting to see if any changes are made tonight. I really would like to hammer Sweden tonight so Pia Sundhage keeps her mouth shut.

I don't have any problems with what Pia said, most of her comments were rooted with truth, there certainly are some entitlement issues within the USWNT, maybe she was just being honest.

I have to agree with both points... I think she's right on somethings and just put stuff out there, but I want to see her get her hat handed to her. Or she's playing the ultimate mind game. Bipolar much??

When Pia S. coached them she was very blunt too. The US players know her well. I don't think they will think too much about what she is saying. Should be a good game. Sweden will step up. But it is not a must win for either team. Got my wine chilling already.

US team was a disappointment last night. No center mid to control the game. Sweden was daring the midfield to make a play by crowding the strikers. Our strikers made it easy by not working hard off the ball. There was no offensive creativity. They end up relying on the long ball too much where the defense has numbers in crowded final third of the field.
I think Pia has shown teams how to play the US moving forwards unless the US coach can make adjustments.

I think Pia has shown teams how to play the US moving forwards unless the US coach can make adjustments. We've seen Ellis make adjustments. But, they never seem to make sense. The forwards and midfield have been a mess these past two games. I'm not a fan of Leroux as a starter. Abby can'tlay 90 minutes. It still feels like an experimentation that's going wrong vs a team that is peaking at the right time. There is just way more talent on this team than what I've seen these past two games. I just keep thinking Ellis was the wrong person for the job.

I've been disappointed with Carli Lloyd. She has been way too uninvolved in the first two games. I expect her to be more of a presence out there.

My observations below - Out of the two games I watched, we did not seem to play like soon to be world cup champs.
Hope we can pick it up a notch against Nigeria, and be on our way forward.

besides Becky Sauerbrunn, Julie Johnston, hope and Rapinoe the rest were not good. looked lost at times.
absolutely no build up at all. These girls are too talented to not play quality soccer. I like krieger, but if your going to get forward 95% of the game do something with it. finish your chances. in the first half she was our offensive weapon..... thats a big problem....
morgan brian on the outside?? what is that about. all year shes been in the middle and not got good at that, then you throw her outside, bad technical error. she was not good. lloyd and holiday were missing. both want to attack and neither want to defend. we played the first half as if wambach was in the game........
if this team wins, which i still think they will at least get to the semi-finals, its despite coaching and just sure will power and because the defense is solid in the middle.
Who else was terrified on all those corner kicks!
Leroux just runs around like a spaz, works hard, but for what?

Leroux just runs around like a spaz, works hard, but for what? This is exactly what I was thinking!! Why is she out there? She won't take anyone on 1v1 or create space. I'd rather see ARod get the start over her who at least brings some speed.

Why not try Kelley O Hara up front? Forward is her primary position, although she plays in the back for the USWNT. She is technical and can beat players 1 v 1, I would like to see her up front over LeRoux.

I agree find a way to get o'hara on the field.
Team has no playmakers or creativity besides rapinoe. Holiday could be and is dangerous pushing forward but that's not her position with this roster for some reason.
