Does anyone have more information about this series, first hand?
Is it good?
"Your outstanding contributions on the field this season led to your identification as one of the top players in the Super Y
League. This event represents an elite group of players coming together to display their soccer talent and work ethic to
collegiate coaches and the Super Y League Regional Scouting Staff".

I'm going to be jaded here - Both kids played in Super Y this seasoning with OUTSTANDING LOSING RECORDS. ;-)
My son did get picked as one of the the players of the game once (each coach selects 3 players per game for this - it's reported on the score sheets which are submitted).
So, it's possible they are using the players who are recommended by the coaches at the end of the game. Because based on the performance of both our teams this summer, there is no way we should be getting the same email you are referring to...

Team performance doesnt matter. I know teams that did bad and some of their players still got picked. And teams that did great and no one invited.
It is based on coaches recommendations

I got that email as well, and my kid isn't playing SuperY this year. At all.. didn't play last year either after registering and then getting a concussion.
So it's a big mailing list. Spam, basically.
I've asked the guy to unsubscribe my email address 3x, and he says he cannot.

You have been selected through the league's Player ID Tracking System based on your performance during the 2015 Super Y League season." So technically rifle should not be getting the email. I lean to mailing list...

As a good coaching buddy of mine says, Super WHY... are you wasting your time and money? Haha
Just curious, because I'm still new to super Y but other then maybe 13s-15s what's the point? And even then it seems like it's just not worth the money when you include registration and another uniform kit for out of league players. Wouldn't that money and time be best spent at ID camps, summer camps, and training with your real team?

She finds the practices more relaxed and fun, loves the futsal component and finds the whole thing to be less stressful than the normal season. Plus we will get to go to Nationals in Bradenton (in December when its freezing here). She still does keeper training over the summer so she's still doing other things as well.

My daughter did Super Y once and hated it, asked me never to do it again..I was glad we didnt. We also did the Bradenton finals and it was a nice facility and experience but thats it. Its right after Disney and I wasnt happy about having to do FL right after it and missing school on top of that. Also the competition didnt seem worth it to me and specially how much it cost. This year we just trained all summer and it was much better.
But some people like it, since you seem to have it done over the summer ask yourself if this is something you want to do again.

That's awesome and really the only acceptable answer. If they LOVE it, then game on. Oh, what are you talking about freezing here? This is atlanta its never cold here. We aren't lucky enough to have winter.

My daughter has played the last two years and really enjoys it. One day a week practice and then games over the weekend. This is completely her choice as she prefers not to take the summer off. I agree with the less stress factor and she also gets to play with players from other clubs so friendships are made.

I'm glad we checked it out this year, as we only played 5 games in the spring due to rain, but never again. Many practices were canceled due to games being suspiciously scheduled on the same night as practice. Games were pretty much a waste of time: huge rosters mean very little playing time and teams were very mixed so kids playing out of position. Several kids got injured and aren't at camp now. Then to find out they pull a sleazy money grab by passing off a camp they invite everyone to as something elite based on your play. I have a pretty bad Super Y taste in my mouth right now...
