Hi good knowledgeable ga soccer folks. Anyone has location and program details for winter/indoor youth soccer. I'm particularly interested in UFA norcross and AFU. where is the indoor facility? We did silverbacks last year but they weren't so organized and the dates didn't work well for most.

Heard very good things about it as well. Im not sure I will be able to drive out there, which is why I was wondering about the norcross branch. Ideally something in Duluth/norcross. Thanks

Norcross has an indoor facility, but it's small. When my daughter played there a couple of years ago, it was not very competitive most games.

The thing I did like about silverbacks indoor is that the fields are big and it was very competitive. I saw on AFU site they have winter futsal but no mention of dates or location?

AFU usually does futsal at Lanier HS in the gym. It's a fun program - my daughter has enjoyed it.

Thanks I know a few people that did the indoor at Norcross and they enjoyed it, there was a lot of teams that partipated in it. Theres also a Friday night Futsal that KSA does in a park in Gwinnett, I cant remember the name of the park. I'm not a fan of indoor soccer, lots of injuries but enjoy the Futsal. Personally...it depends on the age of the kids for me, the older they are the least competitive it gets...thats why we dont do them, I like the Futsal because it helps them with their small sided skills. You can always do 3v3 in the winter, I saw an email the other day that they will be doing Futsal in the winter as well

Since it is still summer time, most winter dates will probably be released late October/November at the earliest.

FYI: DSC ran a Winter Futsal program out of a gym in Lawrenceville. Last year was the first year so I would expect it to grow this winter.

Both of my kids have played at the indoor facility during the winter at Norcross and also played a year at the Silverbacks indoor. The competition for either varies on the age group. The Norcross facility is very small like a 6v6 pitch while the Silverbacks is about twice the size. It's off Of South Berkeley Lake Rd. near Ptree Ind. Blvd. next to the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center. Of course, the Silverbacks facility draws far more teams so the games are usually better but the price is higher too. We might avoid all winter activities this year. Our u10 girl played year round this past year with indoor in the winter and Super Y (why) in the summer and she needs a break though I doubt she wants one. Maybe I need the break lol.

My children have played the Norcross indoor facility for a few seasons. While my son loves it, my daughter is not as much of a fan. My son played Silverbacks as well last year, and while he lfound the level of competition to be poor in comparison to Norcross. To me, the Norcross competition varies by age and gender (definitely stronger on the boys side with some great games to watch).
