I attended last Friday's 3-0 victory against South Carolina, and watched them tie Coastal Carolina 1-1 in a very physical match on ESPN3 Monday night. This team is good. They own the ball.
Not many Americans on the roster but I predict sophomore Diego Campos, from Costa Rica (#9) is going to be well known someday soon. Plays like Alexis Sanchez. An electric attacker.
Check them out.

Saturday they face a high quality side for the first time this season. Let's see how they look against the Irish up in South Bend. That will give us a good indication of just how good they are.

Irish won 1-0 in what was described as a very chippy match. Something like 27 total fouls! Did not see it myself except for a few highlights. From what I can tell Clemson had 5 shots from Campos (no one else took a shot) but not a single one of them got past a defender (all blocked). Very tough playing on the road in ACC on both Men's and Women's sides. Did you see it rifle?

Wasn't able to see the ND game. Makes me wonder though...
Against in-state rival University of SC there were lots of fouls but Clemson simply owned the ball and out classed SC by a mile. Never bombed it down field. (SC game plan was 180 degrees from that).
It is always easier to own the ball against a bad team, so maybe my impression was falsely influenced by the weak opponent.
Against Coastal Carolina (then ranked #11, so not a pushover) Clemson played the same possession game but it was a foul-heavy match. Clemson was less of an instigator, IMO, but they gave as much as they got once the tone was established.
I will have to try to watch a replay of the ND game.

Watched Clemson vs. Boston college sunday. Very one sided match. Clemson on to ACC semis. Playing against Syracuse, who beat UNC.. right now on ESPN3. CU losing 1-0 after a top corner wonder strike. Beautiful goal.
Clemson looked poor in 1st half. Hopefully better 2nd.
I don't know what happened to Campos, but he is a shadow of the player he was earlier in the year. Injury perhaps?

Game over. Lost 2-0. Didn't show well at all on 2 days rest. Syracuse was just better.
Hopefully it'll motivate them to show up for every game in the NCAA tournament

Into the college cup! Rematch against Syracuse next Friday night, for a trip to the final.
I'm hoping for Akron vs Clemson final.

Everything I hear about NCAA men's soccer is that it is usually chippy and often very physical with heavy fouls.
I rarely get to watch it though, so all I have to go on is what I hear. When I get to watch it, I do.
I have seen ND play this year, and they looked like a pretty solid team.

It definitely is physical and chippy. I've watched it on and off for many years. In my recent observation, some schools are separating themselves and raising the level.
I saw Clemson vs Syracuse a few weeks ago.. the college cup rematch should be great.
But if I am being honest, I'm really most looking forward to watching Akron vs. Stanford.
