This is for practices and some spring tournaments. They wont need a release, but you will need to talk to your coach/Club Director/Club Administrator to get the player pass for the tournaments. Its also best to let the coach know that you want to have your kid train with that team as long as it won't interfere with any spring obligations to the original team. Definitely be up front about what you are doing otherwise your current club could go after the new club for tampering.

Do NOT ask for a release. That means your player can't play anywhere until tryouts. If this is a permanent move ask for a transfer. If you are just practicing and guest playing you will need player pass and current coach should be told as courtesy.
But watch the wording. Don't say "release".

Could I simply ask the manager for the player pass? I'm pretty sure he would give it.
No plans to continue with last fall club going forward. Team has no spring games and no plans to do anything as a team. The coach has offered to do training if anyone wants to, and to scrimmage possibly (if enough are interested). Just not interested.
So far there is nothing definite but have outside chance to join some friends for a couple spring tournaments in GA after HS season ends, with another club.
I understood U15 commient to be for fall only, so not sure why there would be any chance of tampering. Season ended in 2015. This isn't a case where either team is bound for state cup, its C3/4 soccer. Thanks all.

I think the commitment with the club is thru May, but read your acceptance email and it should tell you. To go play at another club you will need a transfer unless you are just guesting. Talk to your coach, doesnt sound like it would be a problem if they dont plan on doing anything else

Yes- and be honest and up front that your intentions are not to abandon any current obligations but your player has an opportunity to play this spring and you want to take advantage of it. Depending on your relationship with this coach, you may even want to be honest that you're not returning this fall. That way the coach can make sure to replace your player and not be left short. Is your team doing any end of season tournaments or training in spring? If not, may be a transfer isn't out of the question if you think the team you're guesting with would be where your player would want to be come fall?

Technically the coach or Club DOC has to ok any player guest playing, Some tournaments are actually requiring guest players get written approval from their club too. But all GA Soccer players are under a one year commitment (Aug 1 to July 31) even though theres no spring season for U15 and up.

I appreciate it. The old team doing some optional training and what is basically pickup play for an extra fee isn't organized team activity, in my opinion.
Thanks for the guidance. We will proceed with care.
