Just checking UFA website to see if coaching assignments posted, there is now a UFA Lawrenceville formed with Pancho Ugarte as DOC!! This is big. He has been a big part of the Norcross club and will be missed. I think many boys will follow him from Norcross. Looks like they will play out of Rhodes Jordan Park downtown Lawrenceville.

If that guy is really given a DOC role where he can influence coaches, look out. There will be some good teams over there, soon.

Pancho is a very intense coach Lol ! Can't go wrong with Pancho Oh so true!! Pancho is definitely for the serious/elite player. I have seen him kick kids out of his summer training sessions because they weren't serious enough. He is a bit expensive (especially for individual lessons), but you do get your money's worth.

Definitely a good coach for players who can take criticism and need to be pushed past what they think are their limitations. Typical intro speech: "I'm not your friend"
He does rub some people the wrong way. Usually players who don't work hard and don't listen..

My daughter did 6 weeks of private sessions with Pancho and did so much to improve her as a player and a person. It made her believe in herself that she could endure his intense training. He had her crying 1 hour into their first session due to its intensity. Pancho didn't coddle her. He said, "You cry? I no train!" and "On field, I not your friend!" He got her to reach down deep within herself and she looks back with great fondness in his training. He is missed at Norcross but he is still part of the UFA family. I know he is still doing our finishing clinics this year.

I have heard good things about him previously. I thought Rhodes Jordan Park was part of DSC?

I have heard good things about him previously. I thought Rhodes Jordan Park was part of DSC? Rhodes Jordan is a rental park so it's shared. UFA will have to share it with the small Knights Soccer and Dacula. All of which have laid rental claims to it.

Apparently, now UFA will be at the STARS location in Milton (current Rush location), effective after State Cup.

From the other forum merge letter to Rush parents: Dear Soccer Families, In the past years, Georgia Rush has been the select soccer partnership with Stars Soccer Club. It is with a heavy heart that we have had to dissolve that partnership. However, we are excited to announce that we will now be partnering with United Futbol Academy which one of the largest youth and adult soccer clubs in Georgia. Since the establishment of our club, my family’s goal has always been to strive to improve the opportunities available to our members and to provide the best soccer environment possible for every level of play. Our location has been so unique and convenient to you, those who have shown great commitment to us, through good times and challenging times. To that end, we have some very exciting news that I feel will elevate our program and provide the kind of professional soccer service you all deserve. Effective immediately, I have secured an agreement with United Futbol Academy (UFA) to be the new soccer provider for our recreational, academy, select, adult, and indoor programs. We have known the founders for many years and what they have accomplished over time has been impressive. We share the same philosophy of player development and our standards match up. We feel strongly that this partnership will benefit our members because it provides: 1. A more cohesive soccer presence in the community. 2. More opportunity to play soccer at every skill level. 3. Greater opportunities for elite players to play on regional or national championship teams which, in turn, leads to greater exposure to national staff and college-level coaches. 4. Increased opportunities for recreational competition and tournaments. 5. Enhanced scheduling opportunities for academy teams. 6. Less “travel” for our older recreational teams. Age groups would be able to minimize inter-league scheduling and “travel” would be confined to North Georgia. 7. Expanded tournament opportunities, bringing business and exposure to our city. 8. Adult soccer will find an expanded pool of players giving parents and coaches access to playing adult soccer at the same club where their children play. 9. Expanded base of volunteers to assist in running the organization. 10. Opportunity to play for the same soccer club from youth through adult. WHAT’S THE NEXT STEP? 1. TO REGISTER, go to www.unitedfa.org and select MILTON as your location. 2. Click LOGIN on the top right and create your new account using Blue Sombrero, a system we are all familiar with. 3. REGISTER for: • Tryouts • Recreational • Summer camps • Adult league TOWN HALL MEETING We know you will have many more questions. UFA and myself will hold a “Town Hall” meeting on Thursday, May 26th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on the deck at Stars Soccer Club. This will be a great meet-and-greet opportunity to have first-hand interaction with the UFA staff. We look forward to seeing you there and are we very excited about the opportunity to serve you. UFA STAFF It is our intention and goal to keep the current staff that has been coaching at Rush and Stars for years and Lisa Brune will act as the Program Administrator. The UFA Milton Director is Philip Broome and he works directly under Deo Moleka, Executive Director. Look for facility upgrades, improvements and other amazing changes ahead. Thank you for your continued support. Stacy Brune Stars S Soccer, Inc., Owner 14295 Birmingham Hwy Milton, GA 30004 stacyatstars@gmail.com

This is gonna be interesting....
Directly from Georgia Rush's Facebook page....
Dear Georgia Rush family, Earlier today a letter was sent out by former Board Member Ms. Stacy Brune claiming that the partnership between Stars and Georgia Rush has been dissolved. We would like to take this moment to address this issue and put a lot of rumors to rest. First and foremost, as of this moment there has been absolutely no change in the ownership or partnership between Stars and Georgia Rush. We understand that rumors have spread that a new organization, specifically UFA, will be replacing Georgia Rush as tenants at the Stars facility. As expected, this has caused a lot of panic and worry throughout the Rush community. However, please be advised that this is not the case. As it stands, Rush is the legal and rightful tenant at the facility and we plan on keeping it that way. On a more personal note, we understand that Rush has become a sacred community to its members. The very foundation of this organization is based on the love of soccer and team sport. We are proud to say that Rush has now flourished into becoming not just a soccer club, but a very loving and devoted family. Our top priority is maintaining the sanctity of Rush, its members and the loving nature of this organization. With that being said, we take any action against Rush very seriously, but we will not let the actions of some interfere with the rights and privileges of its members. We ask that everyone disregard the letter previously sent by Ms. Brune and have faith that the Board of Directors and the attorneys working behind the scenes are doing everything they can to resolve any and all issues. Thank you, Joanna Eljazzar, Esq. Elkhalil Law, P.C. Legal Counsel for Georgia Rush Soccer Academy, Inc.

Ok, wow!!! Not posting nothing else. Where is this going??? I'm thinking to court! My guess is the board approved the merger but didn't get full approval from a few and the staff. So now those guys are bringing the lawyers in to haggle over contracts and fine print. Either way it sucks because what parent is going to trust that Rush will still be Rush come fall.

Crazy!
I think the name doesn't matter if the staff stays. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise .. is selling. Rush has some good teams, and a quality academy. They're not a state powerhouse purely due to size and location.
Sure, you would potentially lose access to Rush national camps and possibly a sniff at Rush national team activities - but players good enough for that would be in the scouting circles of the real NT.

If the Brunes are the owners can't they just kick Rush out? I mean Rush is saying not true but it takes 2 parties to agree.
I have never felt that Ga Rush had competitive teams?

UFA should try to merge with cfs or ssa south to have true southside club.

I have no idea.. but it seems like UFA has no interest in those two clubs, aside from shrinking their share of the pie

My understanding is that Stars owns the fields & indoor facility and they lease them to Ga Rush And that would make complete sense if Stars wants to just sell out to UFA instead of keeping their Current agreement with Rush. I wonder if it's like the NASA/Tophat merger where Cy gave up Tophat select so his daughter could keep the fields and Rec programs.

I wonder if it's like the NASA/Tophat merger where Cy gave up Tophat select so his daughter could keep the fields and Rec programs. I think the issue is that the lease is up and Stars doesn't want to renew it for some reason. I had heard rumors about them wanting to lease to UFA before, so this is not news. Its not a merge, its just going to be a secondary location to UFA Milton. Not sure what the inner workings exactly are, but if they plan on keeping same coaches, does that mean that they're under contract with Stars or GaRush??
