I think it’s going to be a very interesting year with some competitive games and a few blowouts. You never know who you might see on a given day with the mandate changes. For example, my daughter’s team is brand new – they played one tourney together before opening weekend. Still learning how to play with each other but so far have performed well for a group of girls that are former u14 & u15’s from basically two different clubs that all came together.
My opinion of Athena A (and I hope no one takes offense at any of my comments because I could be completely wrong!) but my assumption going into the season was that Inter Atl, UFA Red, and Ambush would be the three top teams. I’ve seen Inter and UFA play and I definitely believe they will end the year near the top of the table.
After that I believe it’s a crapshoot. I am familiar with the NASA and Savannah teams that moved up from Athena B and think both have some very good players and will compete hard but might not quite have the firepower to hang with the top half of the bracket while they get adjusted to Athena A. Impact has a solid squad (and I believe one of the ODP keepers plays for either this team or the 15's.) I haven't seen CFC or Concord yet so have no idea about either club but with the depth that Concord has I'm sure they have some players.
All in all, I think it's going to be a fun year with some surprises...

It is very early in the season to tell I believe. But I do agree on inter atl, ambush and savannah being possible top teams. As far as concorde or cfc, I don't think either can make a run to the top. At the moment I think ambush and inter are the teams to beat. Injuries will also play a part in the end most likely. A healthy team could climb early and stay there. Both ssa and ufa teams have talent along with afc. Who wants it most? Who can stay healthy? As you say it will be fun to watch!

Well inter atl. played today, and a big win as expected. They have a big game tomorrow vs AFC, I expect a close game with the winner taking control of the group. Yes Ambush and Savannah will stay in the top also. In my opinion these will be the four teams to beat. There will be some upsets as always but one of these four will win the group.
