At what age should a child consider doing individual training with a coach? What should the parents require from the child before doing individual training?

Among private trainers this may not be popular advice.. but
I would save the hard earned dollars and have the kid go play Futsal with older players. Or take extra practice on off days with older teams at your club.
After spending some money and watching friends do the same, I know that some kids make big improvements doing foot skills.. But I know other kids who gained as much working on their own.
Truth be told, the most valuable private training outcome I know of is a friend's son - he learned some discreet shirt pulling and unbalancing (pushing) tips.

Truth be told, the most valuable private training outcome I know of is a friend's son - he learned some discreet shirt pulling and unbalancing (pushing) tips. Well - sometimes that is the best kind of thing to learn. Years ago we did privates with our then coach and he helped my small player learn to use her size in her favor - by leaning in and using her lower point of gravity to offset bigger players who were leaning into her - I cannot tell you how many photos I've captured over the years of bigger players on the ground while she dribbles away - foul free at that. The shirt pulling though - I hate that. She had a uniform rip on her last year when a player was pulling on it - if I'd have known who that kid's parents were I'd have sent them the bill for the darn jersey I had to replace!
