Ironically, I left his one of this list, but with the finals this week, figured it would be a good one to start with.
We will run with each for a week, and then the next series starts the following monday. I'm sure I'll forget once or twice, but I think we have enough topics to keep us going through the winter break!
I'm sure we will have some disagreements but that is healthy, lets just keep it tame, safe and collegial.
Honestly, I hope we all have differing opinions, otherwise we are losing our edge.....
The finals of Super Y starts end of this week, lets here some Pros/Cons of super y, the league and the finals.
I personally think its rather interesting to have it this time of year and for kids to have to miss school etc.
Top younger teams just had disney jr. Other top girls teams were just at CASL and a winter ECNL showcase in North Carolina. The DA had/has its huge winter showcase this past weekend for the u16s/u18s.
Is super Y one of those things that is no longer a necessary component of youth soccer. We already have enough confusion and leagues etc. Many clubs jumped into the super Y bandwagon 2 years ago and would be interested to hear folks opinions on where it now stands in the crazy landscape of youth soccer.
I'll stay away from stealing to much thunder from others, but Super Y 5 years ago seemed like it was a special thing. Top players congregated at clubs that had super y teams and continued to play through the summer months etc. And I'll give it one last major pro -- regardless of club affiliation (besides DA) kids could go play with their buddies/friends or even a coach they like at club that offered super y. It was a more casual experience with kids spread out from various player pools around the city.
