Just got back from the New Year's edition of the Disney showcase. It's quite the experience. Just curious what anyone's experiences are with this event.
PROs: It definitely has the college coaches and nice fields.
CONs: It is pricey and is in a really busy area.
One example. I had heard that they sell out of the tournament shirts early and they do not sell them at the satellite locations (just like State Cup). So we went to WWoS to get one. But the tournament shirts are sold inside the facility. So you need to buy an entry ticket to be able to buy a shirt. Then it was an hour wait to get one.
Did anyone go and hit the parks before or after?

Always a fun event. Yes it's pricey but so are most high level tournaments...Dallas Cup, Surf
I feel its the main event for the SE in regards to college scouts. Hoping the LakePoint location here does a big one in the future. Maybe even AtlUtd with that new location.
Most coaches wont allow players to visit the parks before tournament. Always have gone after

Kid enjoyed experience. Good competition. Being from Metro and playing R3pl, we see that competition level often. I am neutral on whether cost is worth it as our team played a team we had played in the fall and others were in other pools. Having to use one travel company also makes me question this.

Skip the travel company and "stay with relatives".
